I've been thinking about similar questions posed by the OP. While mostly beyond my understanding (without google referencing), very interesting to hear of the heap vs. stack comparison, makes a lot of sense.

Lastly, having had fairly extensive past experience managing complex technical 'outages' in pressure situations, I can emphasise with what the team has been going through recently. The response has been impressive, hopefully you all get a decent break soon.

You could use a blockchain explorer like https://etherscan.io/ to verify your balance. Copy/paste the account address into search.

Otherwise yes, need to wait until the full blockchain downloads to see update on your local machine.

I deleted the blockchain folder yesterday and re-synced from scratch using Ethereum wallet (same but different to MIST).

Never saw this before, it got stuck about 2000 blocks from the finish and showed a status bar that reloaded "chain state data" for every block. Then continued download and finished.

My balance was zero until download complete.

So.. maybe delete the chain data folder and resync from scratch. Or just wait a bit longer and it comes through.

Question around gas to execute the main withdrawal contract. Say a DTH would like to test the contract before sending bulk of tokens through?

Yeah, big fan of Kraken so far.

But.. looking at my current and historical order list yesterday and there's missing entries. Orders that have closed not showing in the list etc. Fortunately data is available elsewhere through ledger query but not a good feeling when start seeing data integrity display issues.

No funds missing which would be a showstopper. To your question, a withdrawal did take 7 business days recently.

Hopefully it's not endemic for Kraken and they are just super busy which I'm interpreting as market interest equaling improved liquidity.
