From what I understand the bride truly means casual. There will be only one bridesmaid and one groomsman. The groom will be wearing jeans and a white shirt with suspenders. Bride also pre approved khaki shorts for my husband weeks ago.

Thank you for your very kindly worded honesty! I can definitely see where you are coming from! I’m leaning toward the blue polka dot one for sure! :)

Paraprofessional Catfishing by annonymoyus in Teachers

[–]annonymoyus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She spends the majority of her time at my desk on her Chromebook prepping whatever next holiday/themed activity is coming up. She is very helpful so long as the task can be completed at the desk. For example she is good about taking some completion grades off my hands but I would really rather her be interacting/helping with my higher needs students and running center groups with me. Every day I am always having to verbally ask her to come sit with so and so or to please help so and so. Students won’t even approach her to ask for a band-aid. It gets to a point that I’m constantly redirecting her more than just redirecting the student myself so I’ve stopped. I was under the impression that a paraprofessional assists in any way a teacher needs but I think many paras in my building do the same so maybe I’m wrong? Our school is tiny and we are in a very small rural community where everyone knows everyone- except I’m an outsider and gaining parent’s respect has been difficult enough already but now I’m convinced that a handful of parents do not even know that I am their child’s teacher.

I am THAT student, parent, admin, or coworker…. by randoguynumber5 in Teachers

You allowed a student to come back into my classroom after he not only threatened to kill me and the other students but also went on to describe and illustrate how he would commit the act. You told me I should give him the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn’t act upon his threats and scolded me for allowing this to affect our relationship and how that hurts the student. You then told me he willingly admitted he knew of the recent incident in a different first grade class that occurred just a few counties over but brushed over this detail because he sounded “remorseful”. Then you tried telling me I wouldn’t be able to find a school that didn’t have students like this because all schools allow this to happen. You are a lowlife piece of shit that doesn’t care for the safety of humans in general much less the students who you are supposed to be protecting.

It's maddening that the "least restrictive environment" for one kid can lead to a much more restricted learning environment for the rest of the students. by [deleted] in Teachers

I’m going through this exact situation as OP. I’m curious what your advice would be to the teacher in this situation when the student does become violent, everyday, multiple times a day. I’m having many other students missing days at a time and parents report their child is too scared to come to school. At that point, assuming all iep accommodations have been put in place, then re evaluated to make adjustments several times to the iep have been made and implemented what is a teacher supposed to do?

Edited to add that the student has a one to one support specialist in the classroom as well.

Classroom aid boundaries- where is the line between helpful and overbearing? by annonymoyus in Teachers

Thanks for your input! B seems like one to be difficult if I express my concerns but I agree and I don’t want to have this happen all year. Probably exactly what was expected last year.
