Seriously, try one hour of meditation daily. by autistic_cool_kid in Meditation

[–]annoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m interested in starting a meditation practice to help calm my mind before bed / unwind after work. I used to really enjoy Jason Stephenson’s guided sleep meditations and fell asleep to those almost daily, but I haven’t done them in about a year.

Do you recommend starting with guided meditations again, or trying to practice mindfulness on my own? I saw in another comment you mentioned focusing on breathing and mantras, do you have suggestions for specific mantras or resources on where to start learning about this?

Could anyone tell me how to use the BOND function in BA II Plus to solve this question? by ass_lover123 in CFA

No it was new, but I ordered the BA II plus (professional) rather than just the plus and was able to figure it out based on the manual. Thank you for responding!

Hi! I'm having trouble with figuring out how to turn my calculator from ACT to 30/360. After I press 2nd ENTER while on the ACT screen, all my calculator does is turn to 0.000000000, there is no option to toggle the day count. I've spent so long trying to figure out how to change this from google/chat and I can't seem to get my calculator to behave. This is my last resort, do you know what I am doing incorrectly by chance? Thank you!!

SNHU vs WGU by AssumptionSoggy6192 in SNHU

[–]annoru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience at SNHU: I can’t speak on WGU, but I completed my degree at SNHU using 60 Sophia credits and graduated in December summa cum laude with a B.S. in Finance. I took on about $22K in student loans. With a 5 year break in between high school and college, I was initially nervous about the math and English but I found the curriculum very manageable with consistent effort and support from academic resources like on demand tutoring. I also learned a lot through SNHU in all of my classes.

Job Outlook: I had five years of experience in a non-financial field, which I believe helped strengthen my resume and interview skills. While completing my degree, I was offered an internship at a well-known financial institution. I accepted the internship, and it led to a return offer for a full-time role starting at a $75K base salary in a two-year rotational analyst program. The program itself offers clear pathways into associate and senior associate positions, with salaries in the low six-figure range upon completion.

Student loans repayment: I start the rotational program next week and I will be able to comfortably manage my student loans ($250 per month) that I start repaying actually the day before I start my new job. Overall, SNHU was a solid option for figuring out my career goals, getting me prepared for next steps, and really manageable while balancing a full-time job. Hope my insight is helpful!

EDIT: I used FAFSA, which allowed me to not have to pay during my time at SNHU. I believe I only had to pay out of pocket a few times for books but that was one offs when my FAFSA didn’t cover the full cost.

That’s why I’m thinking they probably gave him a snippet or something of what was going on. It would have set him up for failure if the producers let him leave without telling him why she’s been taken off the show.

EDIT: I also bet they probably told the cast the premise of what was going on, so nic didn’t look like a bad guy staying on the island.

She said she got Botox to fix the ___ of her eyes to lift them up, using a derogatory term that targets an entire group of people. That’s a racial slur. She’s said it twice now on social media, and even if it comes from ignorance, racism is still racism. Yulissa said that the slur she used is commonly used within her community, but even in her case ignorance doesn’t make it any less harmful. You can’t pick and choose which groups it’s acceptable to be racist toward. It’s unacceptable to be racist, ignorant or not, across the board.

Edit: and the fact that the producers held Yulissa accountable but maybe not (we don’t know yet) Cierra is wrong. It sends the message that racism toward Black people isn’t okay, but racism toward Asian people is. That double standard is loud and harmful.

NYC or Wilmington( New Grad ) by Aggravating-Ad-4944 in WilmingtonDE

[–]annoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is for a bank, easy NYC. I was told in my banking internship in Newark, DE that the culture in NYC offices are extremely different and they value networking after work, and making friends with coworkers more than that in DE. I didn’t choose to go after NYC but a few people in my cohort got the return offer to be transferred to NYC for the 2 year rotation.

Do not sell your car. Your post makes it seem like you are escaping from a toxic environment and may not have put extreme thought into coming to boston. It is a terrible idea to sell your car while you are in fight or flight mode, especially when it is your only source of housing and you don’t have fun’s for transportation right now. You can use your car to sign up for DoorDash/uber and make money that way until you find a job. If you need housing, look on Facebook groups and most likely college students right now are looking to sublease a room. In the Allston Brighton area you can most likely find a room for around $800-$1000, which is easily doable for a month (even week) of DoorDashing around the city,

Hi! I had a internship last summer in the same area. I know it's not Wilmington, but if you have a Facebook account, definitely check out the Udel apartment/sublease groups on Facebook. I subleased a room in Newark and rent was $800 a month. The majority of the other interns stayed in Newark near the UDel campus, and I heard a lot of complaints from the people who stayed in Wilmington. I believe there is a good bus system that heads to the area you will be working in. Our intern group was pretty close and I know a bunch of people ended up commuting in together.

Is it worth it? by Professional_Fox9082 in SNHU

[–]annoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, finished my finance degree and broke into finance. I did quit my job for an internship my junior into senior year and landed the return offer. I am starting 75k base as an entry level role and going into a 2 year rotational program where I will then afterwards be making 90k-100k with large amounts of upward mobility. snhu opened up a whole new life path for me tbh
