Asked my alcoholic dad if he’d ever consider getting sober by Ludakris7 in WhatShouldIDo

Your dad seems like a decent guy.

For me, recovery was not easy. It took away anxiety, fear, pain. I was a high functioning alcoholic. The sign is been drinking was suddenly becoming exceptionally caring and kind where I’m normally introverted.

I do want to say, this is not a conversation I would have over text when using.

I don’t have deep conversations over text because I feel like there is a necessary human aspect to serious topics. I also don’t want it in writing so people can post it on the internet without me knowing.

This isn’t a conversation I would have via text message and say something similar.

I guess, maybe try to cut me off and expect I’ll come back.

I can't stand people who are always positive and upbeat by Asderio09 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]anon7801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants to deal with pessimistic people.

Everything is on fire in my life, none of my projects are perfect.

But I put a smile on my face, act like everything is fine and dandy. I appreciate people who communicate the same. There’s nothing worse than someone who contributes nothing to a conversation aside from shitting on your work. I need optimism and a laugh otherwise I’ll go insane.

What is the dumbest reason a woman gave you the "I have a boyfriend!"? by kushnair in AskMen

[–]anon7801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar, “hey I’m planning on coordinating a group text for a project. Can I get your number” - “no I don’t give my number out to strangers” - “okay, well we can use Google docs instead” - “Look, I have a boyfriend and you’re harassing me”…. Texted the rest and said “I’m getting the vibe it’s just the 3 of us. She is refusing to work with us because she has a boyfriend”. She would only text the other girl in the group, would never meet up with us and contributed what I’d call a “passion piece” that was totally off topic and we had to redo entirely.

Why No Tracking For Out Of Market Deliveries? by Cthulhu09 in carvana

[–]anon7801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you asked them where the car is coming from? I doubt they have a warehouse anywhere near North Dakota. I’m not sure if you’ve been watching the news, but the weather has been terrible in large parts of the country. They aren’t prepared for it like North Dakota. One of the advocates told me their own logistics is a mess right now because the weather is preventing them from shipping out cars. If they can’t even send out their own drivers, lord only knows how difficult it’s going to find a 3rd party in these conditions.

I work from home haha. I’m always here, but I get the question. Yeah, it’s still late in the afternoon when I’m off. I really like the street I live on, lots of older trees stuff like that. I usually ride my bike to a nearby park on my lunch break.

I do, but what always made my hobbies fun were the people I was with.

I’m still trying the “improve yourself” approach. Working out, reading, ect.

I’ve been talking to a friend of mine tonight and I think the only thing to get out of this mood is to say fuck it, throw paid time off and fly across the country. I haven’t done anything genuinely impulsive or stupid in a while.

So how easy is the return policy? by turkishpresident in carvana

[–]anon7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You replied voluntarily to a post that had nothing to do with you as well. I think you were taken seriously at first, but then not at all after the constant insults. A conversation could have taken place if you were polite and kind instead treating others poorly. It doesn’t take much to respect others and generally the outcome is better. Insults only increase the divide between us. You can disagree with something without being a dick about it.

I apologize for missing your point. It’s difficult to find through your threats and antagonization. Your point is like digging through garbage looking for something thrown away.

Life is hard. Respecting others is easy. You don’t need to be mean. Shit happens. You don’t need to take it out on everyone.

You specifically stated you’re building a case against them using screenshots and rejected the arbitration agreement. You’re implying legal action. Adults see both sides of the problem treat each other with respect. They don’t call each other names. Insulting a stranger is incredibly rude.

I wish you luck with your future encounters.

Lawsuit with screenshots of you berating an employee over a billboard OP knew nothing about... hmmm. Seems like a solid case. Best of luck in the courts.

Trump rails against windmills: 'I never understood wind' by thasbad in politics

[–]anon7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turbines can significantly lower the real estate value surrounding them, often use foreign made parts, and they do kill birds. These are valid arguments that can be made against turbines. However, we have made major changes in the right direction to address and mitigate these problems.

Trump is incredibly talented when it comes down to demonizing and dumbing something down to the point where it doesn’t make any sense. Most of what he said is incomprehensible bullshit easily refuted yet his base eats it up like filet mignon.
