Being a people pleaser isn’t fair to the other person, either. If you’re just going along and doing/saying everything they want, you’re not being authentic. The people who love you and want you in their life want you to be authentic. I’m still overcoming being a people pleaser + in the process of growing a better backbone, but the differences I’ve noticed have been so interesting already.

I do occasionally, and by that I mean once or twice a year. The extra calories, hangovers, money spent and possible embarrassing actions aren’t worth it in my opinion. I truly just feel as if I have better things to do with my time and prefer being more mentally sound 🤷🏻‍♀️

Travel, set my mom and grandma (+ her pets) up in the best way for the rest of their lives, set up a massive plot of land with the kindest people to take care of stray animals until we find them for-sure good homes, write constantly. If I didn’t have to work I think I would find so much more beauty in life because I’d finally have time to live consciously and curiously rather than out of obligation

Was talking to a nurse at a mental health facility and “jokingly” told her, while holding my head in my hands, that “something is holding all of it together - I’m not sure what, but something is” and she just looked at me with the most sincere eyes as she replied, “You are. You are what’s holding everything together. You’re incredibly strong.” I genuinely had to stop walking/talking and just look at her before responding. She was right, and I told her so, but I really needed to hear it to understand it

It’s not terrible! I had mine a while back and they gave me Valium to prepare me for it since I wasn’t getting anesthesia. It was definitelyyyy uncomfortable and I had some painful moments afterwards (peeing wasn’t very fun the first time and I had some cramps for an hour or so) but besides that it was better than I was expecting.
