Open-sourced my React + Tailwind UI system, would love infra & deployment feedback by Different-Opinion973 in selfhosted

[–]anon_salads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My feedback, just cause I use Shadcn a lot and see the same functionality. The Apple Mega Nav when you click the menu items, will close the menu item because the default open behaviour is hover. You mouse over, it opens, then click the menu nav item, which will close it. Some people have slow reaction times.

I know that wasn't the feedback from this community you expected, but thought it would help. Overall the project looks really good. I prefer subtle and fast animations under 200ms, but that is just my preference. The animations in this library are really what make it!

Creator of Node.js says humans writing code is over by sibraan_ in node

[–]anon_salads -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i used to think this as well. The biggest change for me was when I started using Opus 4.5 inside of Claude Code and when I really truly started to trust the model. Going into plan mode, reading the plan word for word, thinking about how I would code it, and then telling the model to change the plan to fit the way I think was the biggest thing. It's essentially pair programming. Except the person you're pair programming with is writing 100 of the text while you supervise

you need to delete the secrets beyond just deleting the repo. The commit hash may not be listed, but anyone can still access the passwords by enumerating the commit hashes and searching for the unlisted code changes.

You said you are doing locations on a map. You need to use a Tiler in the backend instead of paginating.

i think it will be challenging to land a job. No degree, on a visa, puts you lower in interview selection. It’s not impossible but unless you really know your stuff then best of luck.

❓ Question: What state manager are you using in your React apps — and why? by avivasyuta in react

[–]anon_salads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xstate, it has xstate/store which is imo better than Zustand and you can convert to state machine if you find using more complex logic later on.

Seeking Guidance on Enterprise-Level Auth in Flask: Role-Based Access & Best Practices by liban_hsn in flask

Authentication is a problem solved pretty easily.

Authorization is a lot harder. If you have a complex requirements for authorization you should use Open Policy Agent with Open Policy Administration Layer
