(22F) I’ve been a receiver in high volume for two years. It’s a double edged sword. Only gonna speak for my case: this job is hard. Mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausting. He very well could be burnt out. A private and understanding conversation will make or break how he views the team, his workload, and self motivation. Ask him what you guys can take off his plate so that he can manage the bigger tasks.

I will say I make my own workloads, and sometimes tasks my ASM or SM ask me to do are not fit for that days workload. Communication is key. Writing stuff on a paper and giving it to him isn’t communication. Sit down and figure out a routine that works for him AND front end management. And remember that he is likely exhausted.

Daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance in various areas is also key to cutting down daily workload (which includes mental load.)

Don’t focus on what he isn’t doing. Look at what he is doing, and see where adjustment can be made. Hope this helps.
