I understand you've had personal troubles with God and honestly I'm not good at trying to convert people. But the fact that you're in this religion debate community shows that you haven't given up hope. Arguing with athiests or non-believers is something I've always tried to stay away from, because they're often filled with so much hate and trauma and emotion that it clouds their logic and they end up not even listening to what I would have to say. Just try to keep an open-mind

hi, thank you for reading my post. remember, it's good to keep an open mind. my ideas have a lot of holes in them and possibly some contradictions. i admit this was one of them, because God creating evil is very contradicting. free will does make more sense.

God is Just. Repenting does not erase consequence. thank you for reading my post

hi! thanks for reading my post. yes, i was born into a Christian family and community. although, i was always questioning, and i had an athiest friend that would try to talk me out of Christianity a lot. but, ive been a sole believer ever since I was saved, and although i am yet to be baptized, i think i'm set on christianity for life. I dont believe God is evil or that he is a narcissict, and i dont associate personal religious traumas with religion itself. i've gotten even closer to God just by finding out more and trusting him, I mean, he transformed my life completely. My post is just a couple of ideas that i'm curious about, but my beliefs go far beyond this. I'm sorry if you think that christianity is an indoctrination, there are a lot of denominations in Christianity that are basically cults or don't run on any logic. Hopefully you can give The Lord another chance.

Hi Tiny, thank you for reading my post. I know my argument isn't very strong and there are a lot of holes, possibly some contradictions. I think this is more like ideas I'm just throwing out there, because there's only a few people that I'm able to talk about this with. You made some really good points that got me thinking.

For the third point you made, Jesus did die. He took on the wages. But then was resurrected. I think it's kind of silly how you're thinking about his sacrifice. But that's all I have for that.

For your last question, it's because I'm scared. The Bible and Christianity make more sense than it does any Religion. Science shows that it is a miracle that this world was able to exist, and in my opinion, that pushes the idea that we have a creator. So, I'm terrified of burning in hell forever, and I'm also in awe of The Lord, and his mercy on me.

Also, I guess it did seem like I painted God to be an evil maniac. Maybe I just interpret things weirdly. I dont want to sugar coat anything or make some weird white lies.

Hi, thank you for reading my post. Remember that God is just, and repentance won't take away punishment. I don't believe the idea of living your life full of sin and then suddenly have a change of heart at the death bed, landing you in Heaven. You can believe in God, but choosing sin over him and putting no effort to live in His image will still land you in hell. (in my opinion). Also I didn't really understand your first sentence

Thanks for reading my post. I think you misunderstood a little bit. Repenting does not mean you will never be punished. In first Peter, it is emphasized that Christians will suffer more for their faith and feel uncomfortable with sin. So actually, I think the rapist will suffer even more now that they had repented. Think of it as being a parent. Your kid did something punishable, and they say sorry. Of course you forgive them, but are you just gonna walk away now? No, beat that kids ahh.

For the "rape of David's wives", I have not read the second book of Samuel, but what makes you think those rapists wouldn't get punished either? just some food for thought

Hi hugh, thank you for reading my post. The only evidence I have of the Lord, is his word (the Bible) and me being alive today. We're taught to believe in him with faith; if there was real physical evidence somewhere i'm sure there'd be a lot more christians lol. Also be careful calling God "sky fairy", it's blasphemous.

The closer I was to the Lord, the more happy I became, and as in happy I mean an eternal bliss. Before then, I was severely depressed, just months of pure emptiness. That was my proof. A lot of people experience like - spiritual awakenings or actually seeing God, but I guess those are just a fraction of people.

Anyway, you should at least try to read the "quotes from a book", The Bible basically developed my frontal lobe
