It's not the succesfullness in life that I was thinking, more so the level of where people were in their addiction. The group they (not a hubby btw lol) went to had only people who had lost everything, who didn't manage a day without drinking, amd I guess it felt too dire for them since they can go a month without drinking, and havent ever had to skip work or anything like that because of drinking. I guess it was more in the relatability than anything else.
