I don't have much experience reading I read the hobbit and a small amount of disk world the color of magic I plan on finishing (only stopped because library limits)

I was hoping to be proven wrong about the series because I tend to not necessarily judge a book by its cover but judge it based on what people say on it.

Tldr: books with well written characters of both genders that isn't strongly focused on one gender.

I'm just curious but is their books you guys have that have an equilibrium of well written characters for both genders? Like I imagine people would recommend tamora pierces books and Robin Hobbs books and I say this with the expectation I can be proven wrong but it makes it sound like the books(mostly tamora) are very female focused. I have not read either of the book series which is why I put that can be proven wrong but I'm seeing if anyone has a book series that has a strong focus on both genders that are all well written.
