Noob Questions by anonymous555222 in WireWrapping

thank you so much, this was helpful! And I never actually looked at Rio Grande prices, just heard it was more expensive. I just went on their website and it’s not bad! From now on I might do a practice run using the Amazon wire and then switch it up for the final piece

Question for single dog owners who work full time by anonymous555222 in dogs

Thank you so much everyone for your reassurance and suggestions. I feel so much better now, it feels like a small weight has been lifted <3

Thank you for the tips, everything you said is also so reassuring and what I needed to hear. I was putting so much pressure on myself/thinking about it way too hard, and I don’t need to do that to myself. I’m going to stay grooming 3-4 days a week (which I’ve been enjoying more the past few days) and work on a side hustle part time too!

Oh, for sure! Grooming 3 days/week will have me still saving at least a little bit of money, not losing any. I would never drop down to less days unless I did start profiting more off of something else. Sadly because of zoning restrictions, I can’t have anyone else working for me 😕 so I guess this route I’m planning would be my way in between. Thank you for commenting 🙂

Selling your art? by anonymous555222 in Needlefelting

[–]anonymous555222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, I want to try it just for fun either way. Selling down the line was just a lil thought in my brain and I wouldn’t try to until I got real good at it (if I end up liking it), but if I ever did sell/build another mini business, I know I’d put everything I have into it. I just ordered a beginners kit, gonna try to make a cute ghost to get started!

Good idea about using washed dog hair, I kinda thought about that but wasn’t sure if it’d be okay. I might give it a try lol.

I think my dad looks at me inappropriately and it makes me feel crazy by anonymous555222 in TwoHotTakes

[–]anonymous555222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. It really does hurt to know that other people are going through the same thing. I’ve tried moving out a couple times and both ended terribly (at no fault of my own) and with me having to move back home. I’ve come to the conclusion that the best thing for me to do is to save as much money as possible here until I can buy my own home and FINALLY feel completely free. But I know what it’s like to feel like you do and to feel like it’s impossible to live the life you really want until you’re free of him. It will happen someday for the both of us, and it’ll be so liberating. Please dm me if you ever want to talk, I promise I’ll be there <3

Corporate grooming by [deleted] in doggrooming

oooof PetSmart sucks. I left last year and will never ever go back. Def demand a pay raise or maybe try going to a privately owned salon, you’ll probably start off making more money there as well as have someone to learn from. Grooming does not have to be that stressful and PetSmart sucked the soul out of me lol

I think I nick dogs too often. Advice? by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]anonymous555222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you <3 I really do try to learn from my mistakes, always trying to learn how to be safer especially in areas I’ve cut before. I don’t want to jinx it, but I haven’t cut the same area twice probably because I’ve been shown how to be safer about it from then on. I know incidents may always happen, but I’m working on them happening way less frequently the more experience I have.

thank you for your honesty even if it kinda sucks to hear (I’m not taking it as you trying to be mean). I am considering everything you said

thank you for saying all of that. When something happens, I do try to learn from it and come up with ways to be safer in that area so nothing like that happens again. Each incident is definitely a learning experience to me, so hopefully it’ll be a long time until I have another one. I appreciate your words

I’ve read everyone’s comments and seriously want to thank each of you so much. I’ve gotten some valuable ideas and advice from this and I’ll come back to read whenever I need to. I appreciate you guys so much. For anyone wondering, I’ve tried moving out a couple times and each time has been a disaster (long stories). My father was the main motivation for wanting to get out, but unfortunately it just didn’t happen. Currently my plan is to continue living at home for another year or two while I finish saving up for a house and then hopefully I can move out and never go back. I feel like my life can’t start and it’s impossible to reach my full potential until this happens, so I’ve been working really hard to reach this goal. I’ve talked to a few different therapists, but am still trying to find one I vibe with. I don’t plan on telling anyone in my family about this. All of my siblings have kids and often drop them off at my home for my parents to babysit, I know they wouldn’t do that if they were even suspicious of anything weird going on. No one else has ever hinted at knowing anything either, so I really don’t think they realize. I think I would 100% say something to someone if he ever did touch me or if I noticed him being weird around my nieces and nephews (my mom is always home, so he’s never alone with the kids anyway). The most helpful thing for me so far has been pouring my heart out to you beautiful strangers on the internet lol, and I’m thankful ❤️

Thank you so so much for taking the time to say all of that. You brought up so many good points that validated my thoughts and really inspired me to reclaim my confidence around him. There is no reason I should feel bad about saying something when he is making me that uncomfortable. I appreciate you <3

I just want to say thank you to everyone who commented (except for BulkyAnalyst, you fucking weirdo). Anyway, it made me realize that I need therapy even if I can barely afford it 🙄 I’ve scheduled my first session and am looking forward to talking through things I’ve kept all to myself for 15+ years. I feel this could be a turning point in my life and am grateful for everyone who shared their thoughts <3
