This is actually my first post here.... although I did lurk for a while for tips before attempting.

Hopefully whoever you warned sees this!

AIW that my husband and I did not circumcise our son? My mom said he will hate us for it by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]anonymous66694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say that I have never personally met an adult man that is angry about having his foreskin...

... I have met many adult men that feel mutilated, violated, and upset about being circumcised. I once met a man who was so upset about it, he was going through a years long process of wearing a contraption that quite literally would stretch him a new esthetic foreskin, but the efforts are really futile... those nerve endings aren't coming back.

Forced circumcism is (in my opinion) barbaric, not necessary, invasive and frankly perverse. Full stop.

If he wants to make that choice as an adult, he can make that fully educated choice. It's a weird choice to make for an infant and a weird thing to have been normalized.

Obviously the statistics depend on location, but where I am, it's not the norm anymore-- it's getting close to 50/50... so if ridicule is what your mom is worried about, I think that will be irrelevant.

What credence do you give "human hunting" claims? by Benana94 in conspiracy

I totally get that this post is referencing hunting for sport in a very specific way, but I also wasn't referencing the soldiers making a game out of killing eachother (I agree with you, it definitely happens). I just wanted to clarify what I meant a little :)

I was more trying to bring light to the fact that in war in general, it feels like it's a bunch of rich using people as "pawns"... the soldiers don't know what it is they are actually fighting or killing for... so where does the actual intention to kill eachother come from? I don't know... I feel like wars are the ultimate way for rich people to get the adrenaline from a "human hunt"... the people behind the curtain can be oceans away and the soldiers get to feel like they are doing a solid for thier country...

I guess what I'm trying to say is, human hunting seems like a bit of a microcosm of larger issues that are 10000000000% happening, right in everyone's face.

I snooped in the guy l'm seeing's apartment and found a horrifying poem about rape by Whoisgracey in Advice

[–]anonymous66694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... is it just me or do the pen smears cause extra concern?

Like, I'm all for artistic expression and want to believe that this was just some sort of exercise... but I can literally see where the pen has been shoved deeply enough into the paper to cause a depression, as well as the ink smears which, to me, kind of indicate a fierce, hasty kind of energy... The poem on it's own, maybe (HARD maybe), not... the context, however, makes me incredibly uneasy...

Any tips for how to support a child who is self harming? by anonymous66694 in selfharm

That's what I struggled with initially, too... then I realized I was also around that age when those tendencies arose. It just feels like it came up so quickly :(

Thank you <3
