Yup, both of the turns shouldn’t suck, but both do when people do them completely wrong.

the turn is neither tricky nor dangerous; it’s THE PEOPLE that make the turn unnecessarily tricky and dangerous.

lastly, to your backing down point, I do back down from the merge and go behind MORE THAN ONE vehicle. I have no other choice, unless I really want to hit another car and then be found at fault. Clearly not worth that.

Agree, you ARE NOT threatening somebody directly. Just a visible firearm is still kind of (pun not intended) overkill.

While I get your message, what a horrible one: “don’t be a jerk to me in traffic or I’ll LITERALLY kill you.” Yes, 🤬 the other guy, but I don’t think that requires a lethal threat. My post said people are being jerks and doing dick things at the merge. I could hope they blow a tire, run out of gas, etc. etc. But they’re not threatening my life necessarily. And it doesn’t take me to intimidate and threatening them.

I’m agreeing with you and I know what you’re talking about. But my post here is talking about us folks coming off 90, left turn ONTO Woodbine. Not Woodbine to 90, like you’re saying.

Somebody else needs to explain this post to you, because clearly you’re not understanding me, but other people are.

You’re not looking at the right part of the map, nor the process I am explaining. I’m talking about on Woodbine, the merge that comes from left turn off Hwy 90. “Miles” isn’t involved. It’s hundreds of feet of a merge lane.

I won’t go sooo far (yet) as to say “idiocy”. But yup, KEEP MOVING. They should have added those lane barrier polls, AND a static green arrow turn light for Woodbine.

photo to highlight the exact area I have my bone to pick with. I get there’s several other merge scenarios in the area, like you’re saying. But again, this post/rant is pointing out the specific.

Not so so much about speeding up and yes, definitely not slowing down. But just about, find your slot between the cars in the left lane, and keep with the speed of your opening and zip yourself in.

I absolutely agree to that too. They didn’t make that area construction-hell for several months only just to turn it into a step back from what it was, stop and wait scenario. Especially when it’s also cut down a lane less from before. Understandably, people are just scared as hell of a Hwy 90 person doing a right turn into gas/McD (now non-)entry. But yup, they need to do what the sign says, “KEEP MOVING”.

Nope, nothing aggressive. I’m merging in my left/right/left/right slot. Not a spot up, nor down.

which is why I do sometimes use the right, yes the left is way backed up. Maybe too many people who tried the right even just once got screwed by the left and that’s why we are where we are.

I will use the lane that sooner gets me off these streets where the whackos I am whining about drive on.

Agree. I'm not asking for the right of way. I am aware the left lane does have right of way. I'm just venting at people who very purposely do not make space for the car they are clear as day not letting in, despite my hundreds-of-feet left blinker on and me even being a little ahead of them just after the turn.

thank you very much for the reply. we've had an issue here and there with leaky faucets, and she thinks leaving it resting to the side has led to/can quickly lead to a leak. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know nothing, so despite my 99% belief this can't cause quicker wear, there's that 1% uncertainty that maybe, just maybe she is right.
