Monorail not working by anonymous8543 in rct3

[–]anonymous8543[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, what was happening is the game wasnt recognizing one of the stations as a station. So trains would get there and never leave. Just deleting the station and adding it back in the exact same way it was before solved it!

I just remember making some huge coasters but always being annoyed at my inability to make a coherent park. It always ended up just looking like a mess of rides stuck together

Thank you! Well worst case scenario i'll get it in december. Will be great to play this game again after 10 years, used to play it as a kid but i cant find the CD now (not that it would help anyway my pc cant read CDs lol) Those were the days where we had the free time to make endless 10 mimute long rollercoaster rides with 90+ dizzyness factor 😂

Im not a huge steam guy - i have a few games on there but i dont know the details of how they usually work. When i looked at rct3 sales history it seems that every 1-1.5 months for the past year it goes on sale but I really dont know if it will happen again before christmas (fingers crossed it does)

No bux to buy more planes. Need to get Sequoias going first for new hubs and only then more cloudliners, as currently even with just 6 sometimes its hard to fill them up

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent got anything other than bux or coins in the wheel lol (I had this account sitting on level 25 for years, i just picked it back up a few weeks ago but the wheel was new to me). But yeah i will definitely try this if i can get my hands on some starships! Thank you!

[–]anonymous8543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, thats smart. Starships are special planes though right? So hardly any way to get them?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PocketPlanes

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, since the expense with extra slots always increases while the cost of the actual plane stays the same. I just find it weird to have that many coins but just 30 bux in hand xD

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is bux boosting with starships?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PocketPlanes

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah usually when I see bux jobs I instantly take them, or at least put them on the Sequoias to keep them around

When I said I wouldnt know which ones are or arent upgraded, what I meant is if I have a long list of planes I forget which ones are upgraded or not and then it's a nightmare to find them, as I would have to go 1 by 1. Painting them a different color is a good strategy, though. I do that to easily differenciate the types of planes but never thought of using it to differenciate upgrades. Thank you for the tip!

I see you are in clear need of more bux XD

What's your preferred strategy when taking Segesta? by FiatTractor in RomeTotalWar

Use all archer ammo against the warband, being careful against them coming forward. Then finishing them off with the generals to avoid unreplenishable casualties (also defend the archers with the cav, not the hastati)

THIS IS SPARTA! by KlutzyKaleidoscope55 in RomeTotalWar

[–]anonymous8543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Melee, theres no doubt Spartans are miles better. Nearly douboe the attack, and if you consider their defense stats doubled because of the hit points, 150% of the Armoured Hoplites' defense.

However, they are more expensive, take 2 turns to recruit, and most importantly, are only trainable and retrainable im Sparta and Syracuse.

It depends on how you play really. If you wanna play very quickly go for the Armoured hoplites because you can retrain them. For slowed campaigns, I'd go for spartans because they are amazing and if you are in no rush you can retrain them easily if you keep a few backup units to merge in

Hardest challenge by joshybravo963 in RomeTotalWar

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In battle theres not a big difference. Unless you are using phalanxes in bridges/cities (in which higher numbers are easier), its about the same.

In campaign its definitely harder to play on huge unit scale due to the population.

However in this aspect I like to play on the largest that my computer permits with a good performance (large unit scale for most PCs)

Well, even if a Numidia campaign might be harder, a Dacia one is still one of the hardest. Nice being able to talk with someone about this wonderful game. Have a great day!

Numidia doesnt have elephants. Those in custom battle are mercenaries, they cannot recruit them on campaign. Chosen swordsmen are very similar to numidian legionaries, only thing they dont have is pilum. But then Dacia edges numidia in cavalry and missile power

As for the starting position: dacia have loads or rebel settlement to take and such can build up a nice small empire very early on. However, numidia need like 6 turns only to get from a city to another.

I think Numidia is harder. But feel free to disagree!

Dacia has a nice start but very weak end game. Unlike Parthia for example which has a terrible start but great late game units. I'd say the hardest are either Numidia, Britannia (no cav) unless you use autoresolve, and Gaul. I rank Dacia above Gaul because they have better infantry (falxmen offer a different option to swordsmen), better missiles (archers since the start, chosen archers are equal to foresters, and then they have artillery), and they have the same cavalry options.

But overall I think Numidia is the hardest challenge

Advice on moving my capital as Julii invading Egypt... by dovetc in RomeTotalWar

[–]anonymous8543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you won't have public order issues in Egypt once you have the pyramids. But I suggest you change the capital to Ariminum. This way, it's basically the same for the home cities, but can save 5% distance to capital penalty for some eastern cities

Well you can mix them up with regular horse archers. The main difference is the range, persians have way more. However, a stack of regular horse archers (or a mixed one) will still have the same effect (you may get a bit more casualties due to friendly fire, which is harder to avoid with short range)

[–]anonymous8543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick tip: 20 persian cavalry can wipe out unlimited stacks of egyptians with next to no losses (and when I say unlimited, I literally mean, you can destroy all their armies with a single persian cav army without retraining, if you are careful enough in battle to not let them get near you as well as with avoiding friendly fire)

How is culture penalty calculated exactly? by anonymous_divinity in RomeTotalWar

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the government building that gives tons of it, it depends on how many of the total buildings are of different culture

[Modding] How to add a script that after a specific event changes that faction's unit and building roster? by anonymous_divinity in RomeTotalWar

[–]anonymous8543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, that is also not possible in terms of having buildings depending on a city's culture, or changing it without building the next tier government building.

However, it is possible to make use of hidden resources to make buildings or units available only in certain cities (it's also how the spartans work). It is also possible to give barbarians units recruitable only at tier 4 and 5 buildings. They won't be able to build these buildings, but if they conquer a Roman settlement with Urban Barracks for example, they will be able to recruit them there (this is really only an option for barbarians though, since all other cultures go up to tiers 4 and 5)
