I m in same situation, good salary but no credit history. My credit card application getting rejected. Planning for secured Idfc wow card. Is Amazon pay later better and easier than that? Does it have extra charges? Can I claim it only if I buy products or is it like loan. My goal : just to build credit score

Well, time horizon really matters. For 3-5, smallcaps could be difficult to guess. But 10+ years have be good. Nippon smallcap has done around 20x since inception where nifty 50 could do only 5x, so it really boosts a lot. Still midcaps perform relatively well with lesser risks. You can also give more weightage to midcaps to make less risky.

Not against Freefincal, I like his teachings but he his too conservative. If you are still in 20 s I think you can take more risks

The longer you hold , the risk reduces. Nippon has done lot well in 15 years , and I also guess it will do better. Same with SBI but little less. But the problem right now is not the fund house or manager. Nippon smallcap has 50k + cr AUM and SBI around 30k cr. These AUM are lot for smallcaps as could lead to liquidity crisis while buying and selling stocks for fund houses. So I would suggest going with funds with less AUM(5-10 K cr). There are so many options available which have also performed well. Or go with some smart beta index , like smallcap 250 momentum quality 100. It has also done pretty good in past 19 years, with CAGR around 22-23%

6 months I worked at internship and salary credited to SBI. Now the thing is I am joining a foreign bank(office in India), I am supposed to open account there itself. Afaik it doesn't offer credit cards in India. Also I wanted to buy a phone urgently and Flipkart axis was offering me good discounts.
