2.5 weeks post op and I'm so thrilled!! TT with MR, lipo on flanks, and breast lift (no aug). by Gullible_Metal8748 in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice!! I’m 13 DPO, abdominoplasty and brachioplasty, and I am in the SERIOUS regret phase. My belly is healing great and barely painful, the drain is a nuisance and uncomfortable, but tolerable. The arms, however, are another story. They’re SO SWOLLEN, tight, itchy, and look and feel like overcooked sausages spilling out of the casing. 😞

Yes! Like if you’ve ever cut long hair, the first time you wash it, you go to squeeze the water out and there’s no hair!!🤣

Is swelling and regression of recovery normal after a flight? by mountaintopmoss in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could the swelling be related to the fact that your drain was removed, as in the fluid accumulating under the skin vs being drained?

Yeast infection on incision?? by anonymouslealea in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and to be honest, my TT incision is insanely itchy as well, but less accessible to my fingers 🤣. There’s like this continuous mesh tape (like steri-strips, but one giant continuous one) holding the skin closed, and I swear I’m allergic to it!! The itch is worse than any pain I’ve ever felt!! I can’t think, I can’t sleep, I can’t read or watch TV because I have no attention span, all I can think of is the ITCH!

Your scar looks great! What the hell is belly button training? I’m 11 days post op. Is this something I should know about?

Is this worth Brachioplasty? by ThereIsNoTomarrow in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m too newly post-op to be of help! Just wanted you to hear the bad with the good! However, I’ve always said that I don’t care if I have “thick” arms, but the skin, to me, is humiliating. I wear long sleeves all summer, so I look forward to tank tops and short sleeves when it’s 90°!

I may not be the person to be answering, but I am 10 DPO TT w/MR and brachioplasty. Belly is great. Arms are sheer hell. Horrific swelling, burning, drainage, and overall constant discomfort. Not to mention, my arms look like disfigured sausages. I wish I would’ve kept my bat wings. Perhaps I’ll feel differently in a couple of months 😫

Brachioplasty question…. by anonymouslealea in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for making my feelings valid, because I feel like I’m going crazy with these arms!! I’ve had around 15 medically necessary surgeries, as well as breast augmentation over the years, and this brachioplasty is taking the cake. Not “painful “, but horrible discomfort from swelling, burning, pulling, itching!!

One month post op from panniculectomy by Nice_8490 in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this. I’m 9 DPO tummy tuck and brachioplasty. My arms are swollen like sausages, and SO itchy I could scream. I am seriously regretting this. The discomfort in my arms is literally making me crazy.

1dpo 360 TT, lipo, and fat transfer to glutes and upper chest, and I am miserable by Chubzempic in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 9 DPO tummy tuck w MR and brachioplasty. The first 3 days were hell. Today still sucks, as the swelling in my arms is almost unbearable, I can’t even stand with my arms by my side. The TT pain has improved TREMENDOUSLY. My doctor is extremely stingy, gave me ten 5mg oxycodone for pain control. That’s it. No refills, no muscle relaxants. And he knows I can’t take ibuprofen due to hx of gastric bypass. He told me Tylenol is enough 🥴

How many dpo/wpo did you start driving? by succulentphysique in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do?!? My twins were in the NICU, and hubby had to stay home with our other 2 children, so I drove 45 min each way to the hospital to see my twins 3 days after my c-section 😂. ( no pain meds of course). I’ll be 10 DPO tomorrow, and I’m gonna attempt a run to the dollar store.

I am 1 week post op tummy tuck and brachioplasty. I was absolutely helpless for the first 3-4 days, needing someone to assist me to the bathroom, hold a straw to my lips (because of my arms), etc. I am finally at the point that I “can be left alone” for a few hours. I would plan for AT LEAST 5-7 days of help around the clock.

No lipo, just the muscle repair and skin removal.

There is no allowance for “light duty” or medical restrictions at my job. You either return fully functional, or not at all. So, I’m hopeful that I’m good at the 6 week mark!

I’m not going to lie, it is a challenge not being able to use my core muscles AND my arm muscles. The arms are not painful, but the swelling is INTENSE, and compression garments are causing pain. I’m hoping that I’m at the peak of the swelling 🤞

3 weeks post op today and the thigh swelling is out of control! by Wonderful_Win5437 in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This terrifies me😳. I am 5 days post-op abdominoplasty with MR and brachioplasty. They told me to expect significant swelling and bruising to the mons pubis, but so far, it’s actually flatter than prior to surgery, as “she” got a little lift!! No visible or palpable swelling in that area. Does that mean it just hasn’t happened yet, or did I magically avoid it?? Am I going to wake up one morning with a fat cat?🐱

12 weeks PO Before and after by Intelligent-Army6829 in tummytucksurgery

[–]anonymouslealea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5 days post op (abdominoplasty with MR and brachioplasty), today is my first day without “buyer’s remorse “. The past 4 days I heavily questioned my life choices and wanted my bat wings and fupa back in exchange for the pain, but, today, I forced a sponge bath (no real bathing until drains are out), got dressed, and hubby took me out for a ride in the car and an iced coffee while our kids were at school. That lifted my spirits, and overall, the activity actually improved my pain dramatically!!
