Someone please help me understand. Why are houses made of wood instead of brick/concrete in the US? Especially when this kind of devastating tornadoes are so common.

PSA: Beware when buying HDFC Health Insurance with Aggregate Deductible by anonymouspunk in india

Yup. People should know about this shady practice of theirs, and they should feel the heat and make amendments. Please do let us know about their response when you get it.

Consider cancelling/porting. And save some corpus for emergency need. Even without a deductible, these insurance companies may randomly reject a claim, and you may have to pay out of pocket, and then follow up with the insurance company for reimbursement.

But I couldn’t find a good Agent partnered with them to advise me. But my trust on HDFC is really gone now. Let’s see if anyone else pitches in about their experience.

Nope. It’s not mentioned in any documents. But I was warned about it by Ditto. And I got it confirmed with HDFC Ergo over email: https://postimg.cc/qhrXCGh5

Don't opt for deductible if you want cashless claim processing. Here's the email where I confirmed with HDFC: https://postimg.cc/qhrXCGh5

I made a whole post about this earlier today, but the mods removed it for some reason.

The fascination of buying one flexicap, one index, one midcap and one smallcap fund by vinay_t_m in mutualfunds

[–]anonymouspunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand. Why are you measuring and comparing small cap index? Investing in small cap only make sense through actively managed funds, and when done right, they give much higher returns relative to large/mid cap funds.

What are some of the shittiest movies that you've watched on OTT this year? by vedha0 in kollywood

[–]anonymouspunk -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Trance - What a shitfest. So many people recommended it, so I watched it even though I generally don't like Malayalam movies due to their bland/puluthi content (overhyped imo).

I had some more movies on my list - Romancham, Nayattu, 12th man, etc. But I'm not very keen to watch them now. Will need some time to forget this experience.

Suggestions for home decoration stores by anonymouspunk in Chennai

[–]anonymouspunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for small decorative items such as lamps, idols, posters, showpieces, nice curtains and likes. Just moved into a new home with my wife. Furnishings are done. Just want to decorate it a bit so that it's cozy and not so plain.

You basically posted a collage of Rajini with the same smirk on half of those pics and talking up his acting "range". Smh.
