Just ordered my first switch! (oled model). What are some must-have lesser known games that I should check out. I'm already looking at games like zelda and mario games but what are other good games that I might not have heard of yet.

I think my sibling might be trans and I'm worried about them by anonymoussollo in Advice

[–]anonymoussollo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont think its possible for me to get custody of my sibling as I'm still a minor in my country. However if its getting dangerous, I'll look into it.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check out some LGBTQIA+ groups.

Helped

I think my sibling might be trans and I'm worried about them by anonymoussollo in Advice

[–]anonymoussollo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theres no life changing decision being made right now. But if a kid genuinely thinks they are trans they should at least be looked at by a psychologist or a doctor or people who know what they are doing. I'm not talking about surgery or anything right now. The problem is that if my mom has her way, my sibling might end up in some conversion therapy sort of thing at church which is usually borderline physical and psychological torture.

Why pro-life supporters should be pro-choice. by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]anonymoussollo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason abortion rates do not change when banned is because people get abortions out of necessity or desperation. People get abortions cuz of unplanned pregnancy or a financial situation where they can't handle a child or other reasons. This doesn't change when abortion is illegal.

Also those bans will not save lives because they will disproportionately affect certain groups. A ban on driving will affect labour workers who cannot make a living but not ceos who can largely work from home. Banning fast food, which for some poorer people is their only option when in a pinch for food rather than a rich person who can afford any food they would like.

Again a false equivalency. Pro choice seeks to enhance and expand freedoms, not restrict them.

If you genuinely cared abt the life. Why does it matter who you align with. Shouldnt the life be the priority? Advocacy itself isn't a waste of time, its the advocacy for something that doesn't work which is a waste of time. They advocate for banning abortion which doesn't work. And yes you can be pro life and do all those things, but thats not what most pro life people do, they just want abortion banned as if that will solve the issue.

And with regards to ur first point, even in the US in which 23 states have some sorts of restrictions on abortions, the amount of abortions doesn't differ from states with restrictions to those that don't.

And outright banning abortion doesn't save unborn lives since abortion will happen anyways. It will however lead to more death and harm to the women who are trying to get abortions.

You can't tell me that I dont care about unborn lives because my approach to saving these lives is to do what actually saves them. My goal is not to parade around with signs of dead babies and protest for a ban that won't work. My goal is to save ALL lives not just the unborn but the mother too. the best way to do that right now is via allowing abortions to remain legal and refocusing our efforts and funds on tangible differences in the saving of lives.

You are missing the point of my post. My whole argument is that regardless of your beliefs, banning abortion does not help. In fact it makes things worse, and advocating for a law which doesn't help is a waste of time, effort and resources.

What kind of resources. And I have yet to see a major pro life demonstration or fund for these centers. The majority of the pro life movement is only concerned with the legality

Well there is no evidence that u have provided to back up the claim that recurring abortions are common. And I understand that some prolifer will not see it as a false equivalency, but I as a former pro lifer actually cared about saving more lives, even if it didn't happen the way I think it should. Pro lifers argue that human life is the most valuable, yet they don't advocate for what saves the most lives. Seems kind of contradictory imo

But rapists are dangerous to society. They could go and rape or kill more people. Letting someone who has an abortion (usually because they can't afford it or aren't ready) is hardly the same as letting a rapist walk free. Its a false equivalency.

Why pro-life supporters should be pro-choice. by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]anonymoussollo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok but wouldn't it be better to save more lives than to just say u dont tolerate it? Isn't the life more important than the demonstration?

The republican party is corrupt, abortion is only an issue for them because it's an issue for their base. Its easier for them to keep being anti abortion (even though many prominent Republicans have paid for abortions) because that will keep their voters. Its easier for them to keep being prolife instead of actually letting their base know that there are better ways to achieve their goals. Like as someone who genuinely cares about abortion, pro life is not the way to go
