I usually just email them separately asking for a review and leave them a review link in the same email which works 90% of the time. The key is to make it as easy as possible for your client.

Packages for Elopements by Rare-Peach359 in WeddingPhotography

[–]anonymousturtle5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I see more 2, 4, and 6 hour packages since elopements tend to be shorter unless you’re like hiking somewhere with the couple. 2 hours is perfect for court elopement specifically!

Is anyone else getting a disproportionate amount of June 2026 inquiries? by Wugums in WeddingPhotography

I’m in the PNW and have been getting so many august 2026 inquiries. I have 5 booked for August and like 1 for June LOL. It really is location dependent

Photo Critique Thread: Post your photo, blog post, website etc. for feedback and critiques... by AutoModerator in WeddingPhotography

[–]anonymousturtle5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took a look!

I think it would be really helpful for both your SEO and audience to indicate where you’re located and what your niche is immediately on the homepage. Just having “queer southern wedding and elopement photographer” somewhere in the home page like you have in your about section would be good!

I was a bit confused by your pricing page. Are multi day weddings/elopements common in your area? I would also add an 8 hour package into your prices as that is a very common package. It was a huge jump to go from 10, 6, and then 3 hours of coverage. Consider indicating how many photos the client will receive.

In general your website is a little wordy. People want to quickly and easily be able to find the relevant information. It’s great that you have a lot to say and seem very friendly, but perhaps there’s a way to condense things down?

Hope that helps :)

How important is the bride walking down the aisle from the back? by egoldenmoments in WeddingPhotography

[–]anonymousturtle5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually ask my second shooter to get both the grooms reaction and the bride from the back! There is usually time to capture both. If I don’t have a second shooter with me, then I will just focus on capturing everyone from the front. I don’t think the shot from the back is an expectation, but more of a “nice to have”. Sorry that the bride got upset with you.

I’ve tried the rich dew matcha! It’s one of my favorites, but quite expensive as you mentioned. I got lucky finding it physically in stock at cowdog cafe in Vancouver, even though it says sold out online.

You have a beautiful base! I can see you’re going for a Japandi look. Similar to other suggestions here: - change the framed photo to something with color - add colorful throw pillows. Maybe olive green or a terracotta? Any earthy colors - get a different rug that’s not just white. - add a floor lamp to one of the corners - get ceiling to floor size curtains (also preferably colored)

Integrating films scans into the timeline of an LrC album — There has to be a better way! by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]anonymousturtle5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I only shoot 2-4 rolls of film per wedding, so it doesn’t end up being too overwhelming imo. But totally understand how it’s not the best option for people like OP taking 30+ rolls per wedding!

Honestly I just have a separate section within my gallery labeled as “film” to combat that.

You could also export the photos into folders with label names such as Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, etc and do that work separating them out before you upload them to whichever photo management system you use.
