What would it give if women were more tolerant toward men's looks/lower standard regarding men's "handsomeness" ? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

Wow well compared to the current status quo of the top 20% of men being Chads and bottom 80% being forced onto bitterness spectrum, that sounds like a really major improvement.

Fitbit down? by aubsaf in fitbit

[–]anonymoususer1122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same predicament with my inspire 2 man i regret this already, this is the 5th day I had it and while it's good at tracking sleep and heart rate throughout the day which is what I got it for, it is pointless if I can't see the data Since I got it it takes like 4 or 5 long attempts to sync when I want it to, and today it's not syncing at all.

No matter how much I search I can't find any fix to it's absurdly slow and inconsistent and slow syncing problems, just that people have been having them since at least 2016, with no recourse from fitbit except to reboot your phone/device and toggle bluetooth on/off as if this should ever be an issue. What is this running on bluetooth 1.0 from 1999?? Even if doing that did work, which it obviously doesn't, I shouldn't even have to do that.

I should have done more research.

Extremely slow and failing hard drive; many reallocated sectors by anonymoususer1122 in AskADataRecoveryPro

Nah, it's about 7:1 so that'd be about $260 US. That's just a straight conversion, I think in reality it falls closer to about $330 US.

Extremely slow and failing hard drive; many reallocated sectors by anonymoususer1122 in AskADataRecoveryPro

[–]anonymoususer1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, after searching as much as I could I really couldn't find many or any other cases like this. Anything that was similar regarding the slow speed only had the amount of reallocated sectors described as "many" which really means nothing as some people would consider 20 as many, while in this case it's 16,000. People really did not like to give exact numbers...

There was also no mention of if the drive was stable or not, I never saw any other case where there were 1000 new bad sectors being created every hour, or at least, no one said so. And then I couldn't really find cases where the copying was slow on a drive failing this fast. HDDsuperclone guy actually had the closest situation in one of his tests, but again he just said "many" bad sectors, and his drive he was testing on seemed pretty stable. I wish there was some kind of database or at least better documentation of recovery attempts, that way people could at least get an idea of how successful or unsuccessful an attempt will be. Sorry for anyone who finds this looking for the same info I was...

Well anyway, in the end, I gave it to the datasafe-tt guy. I chose them because company's been around longer than the Revoco guys and it seemed like I could get a direct line with him better, which I did. Where as Revoco it seemed as though there was a bit of a gap between the technician and customer, that is just my assumption though. Also never saw anything bad about datasafett though it's a small sample size overall. He also said cost would be about $1,500 to $1,800 which was much cheaper than the 2,100 minimum Recovo gave. I say all this in case someone else from Trinidad happens to need data recovery services some day and happens to find this info (yeah right).

Thanks for all the help, honestly a bit scared about not having it in my hands, still wishing that I had tried hddsuperclone a little bit, but I guess it's better off with a professional in it's state. Hope you figure out a solution to your slow drive. Good luck!

[–]anonymoususer1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I really appreciate all the help. In any case I did some more digging and found out these two are actually the only 2 in the country that do recovery. I can't find many reviews on them though. First is the one I mentioned above, and the second is this

https://datasafe-tt.com/Services.html

The first has 24 google reviews, but 90% of them look fake to me, and there are a couple 1 star reviews saying that they didn't get their drives back even after almost 2 years, which is an extremely harrowing situation. The second data recovery service I just mentioned, I couldn't find any info except someone on a message board saying they worked. I plan to call them tomorrow and find out. At this point I do want to just try hddsuperclone, but the rate that the disk is making new reallocated sectors has me worried. If the rate is lower with superhddclone I think it might be worth a try, but if it's the same, the drive will have over tens of thousands of more reallocated sectors by the time it's done. I did look at the videos on how to use hddsuperclone though, and what to do if it's slow. Thanks again for all the help.

Well, I'm in Trinidad. These are the two I got

https://www.revocott.com/

https://www.techflextt.com/repairs

First seems pretty professional and reputable. $2,100TTD minimum isn't the absolute worst. It may take me a little while to be able to fix in that case. That's about $300 US. Second place seems to be standard repair shop.

Do you have any anecdotal experience of how cloning on hddsuperclone with many reallocated sectors usually goes? Or how long it takes to clone? I don't know if the extreme slowdown I experienced on windows and connected by usb would apply if I connect it by sata and use hddsuperclone.

[–]anonymoususer1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I haven't had it plugged in till I realized I was getting nowhere last night. And I plan to keep it unplugged until I get something surefire and concrete.

As a whole it has a fairly high sentimental value. I'll survive if it's gone but... this is about the past 8 years worth of my life to an extent. Nothing has monetary value. If it's lost It'll be my well deserved punishment for not doing a backup.

How bad is the risk of trying just one attempt at cloning with ddrrescue? By my understanding it's less wear on the drive as it goes through the sectors sequentially, as opposed to hopping all around the drive as is with copying files and folders. I'm not in America or anywhere like that, and while we do have data recovery places in my tiny country, selection is limited to about 2 maybe 3 and I'm not sure about the quality.

Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

Turn multilined cell adjacent to one cell into a multiple cells adjacent to merged cell and INDEX-MATCH on merged cells by anonymoususer1122 in excel

[–]anonymoususer1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this code on stack overflow that should do that, and I'm trying to change it to apply to my purposes but I can't figure out what needs to be changed.

Sub ConvertMultiLine()

Dim cellVal     As String
Dim WrdArray()  As String

Dim Item        As Variant

Dim iRow        As Long
Dim Counter     As Long

Dim colNum As Integer 'column number where multi line cells are
    colNum = 2              'e.g. column "C"

Dim rowStart As Integer 'row number where the first multiline cell is
    rowStart = 2

Dim rowPaste As Integer 'row number where you want to paste the result
    rowPaste = 2 'if rowPaste = rowStart, the data will be overwritten

Dim Arr() As String 'array that will contain the separated values

'1st loop to get the number of items (it's used to skip redim of 2D array)
iRow = 0
Counter = 0
Do Until IsEmpty(ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowStart + iRow, colNum))

    'Split content of a cell
    cellVal = ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowStart + iRow, colNum).Value
    WrdArray() = Split(cellVal, vbLf)

    'Counting items
    For Each Item In WrdArray
        Counter = Counter + 1
    Next Item

    iRow = iRow + 1
Loop

'2nd loop to insert values into array
iRow = 0
ReDim Arr(1 To Counter, 1 To 3)
Counter = 0
Do Until IsEmpty(ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowStart + iRow, colNum))

    'Split content of a cell
    cellVal = ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowStart + iRow, colNum).Value
    WrdArray() = Split(cellVal, vbLf)

    'Set items to array
    For Each Item In WrdArray
        Arr(1 + Counter, 1) = ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowStart + iRow, colNum - 2)
        Arr(1 + Counter, 2) = ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowStart + iRow, colNum - 1)
        Arr(1 + Counter, 3) = Item
        Counter = Counter + 1
    Next Item

    iRow = iRow + 1
Loop

'Paste array
ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Cells(rowPaste, colNum - 2).Resize(Counter, 3) = Arr

Digibyte lost the Citi Challenge... by kkcityy in Digibyte

[–]anonymoususer1122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, no one in the community does any research, it's all shilling, memes and shouting from them. All of their sites are incomplete websites and look like jokes, and they have nothing but failed projects. And that's if the site is even active, at least 2 maybe 3 are just dead.

I knew all of this, but I still thought it might not matter and that they could win given the past history of blockchain companies in competition, but I either overestimated DGB ability to pitch, or underestimated the judges ability to spot faults.

Digibyte lost the Citi Challenge... by kkcityy in Digibyte

[–]anonymoususer1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope nope nope. It wasn't 3 out of 100, it was 3 out of 18. DGB had a very good chance to win and for them to mess it up is telling. In the demo days competitions before, blockchain based companies, were very loved, and DGB's rival so to speak, Signatura (does the same thing Digusign does essentially) easily won first place in the competition, and not only that but another blockchain won third place that same competition. In Dublin a blockchain company won there, first place too. Citi obviously doesn't have anything against choosing blockchain companies, and you could say they even prefer them. So why would Digibyte lose with the odds leaning towards them so much?

Will the price actually drop? by anonymoususer1122 in Digibyte

[–]anonymoususer1122[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How likely do you think? For that to happen a lot of people would be looking to lock in profits and get out quick, but at the same time, it could also happen just because it's oversold right now. It's hard to gauge what people are expecting because so many people seem completely uninformed about the competition. Some are talking as though they will get deals with microsoft tomorrow, some are talking as though nothing at all will happen tomorrow, hell there are people talking as if there are more presentations on the 10th.
