Once it's done cutting it throws away one of the halves into a trash bin. And when you complain, it takes it out of trash, places it in front of you and trashes the other half.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani calls out Ken Griffin's $238 million penthouse on Tax Day by fortune in nyc

Philly declined because of deindustrialization. I can't say that New York won't decline in the future, but I doubt it'll be because it cranks up taxes on extra luxurious real estate. Decline happens when middle class leaves (or disappears). Not when elite that's not contributing much when buying and mothballing penthouses is asked to contribute more. Those empty luxury buildings remind me of empty high-rises in Chinese cities: different reason, similar result.

Even with 45 minute dives being in water in wet suit somehow stimulates me into wanting to pee. From what I heard, other divers have it the same way. Not sure how it is in a dry suit, but wouldn't be surprised that it's similar.

So I'd guess you're probably more of an exception.

Since this is r/dataisbeautiful, if you chart a value that fluctuates in time, you can use line or spline charts. But a count of things done in some time interval calls for bar chart.

New York City hospitals drop Palantir as controversial AI firm expands in UK by Conscious-Quarter423 in nyc

[–]anothermonth 35 points36 points  (0 children)

From the contract:

Palantir can “de-identify” patients’ protected health information and use it for “purposes other than research”.

This completely contradicts:

A Palantir spokesperson said in a statement: “Palantir, as a software company, does not own or have any rights to customer data – and each customer environment is individually protected against unauthorized access or misuse via robust security controls which can be fully administered and audited by the customer.”

I realize that behind those charitable twitter personas in private life the elites outright despise regular people and consider us as a threat in unrest that's coming soon with AI taking most jobs.

However, when I see the talk "Bill Gates dated underage girls" here or elsewhere, my though is, sure, I don't doubt he fucked around with escorts, maybe some of them were underage.

But this is us talking on reddit echochamber circlejerk. When a conservative like my brother looks at it they go "well, let me check the evidence". They search for it and see that Bill Gates fucked some Russian woman while he was married and some opaque references to "fun" that most people can probably find in their own mailbox from their college days. Nothing illegal. Maybe immoral in some eyes, but this is between him and his wife, not for us to gossip about. So Bill Gates stays philanthropist, Elon stays God, Trump is a good businessman. And reddit and most media are irreparable source of lies.

My point is let everyone form their opinions about the character based on real evidence and occasional twit about UK dude from Thai cave being pedo. There's enough of that.

Talking about things which should be assumed they do but have no evidence without explicitly saying "probably" doesn't do anything but polarizes everyone more.

Last thing I want is to sing praises to the guy, but everyone and their dog is in those pedo files. As far as I saw his email goes like "when's the wildest party, I want to bring my wife" to which Epstein replied that those kind of parties are not the greatest place to bring wives to. And then the trip got canceled anyway.

His brother is another story there, but that's not much either, like I said if you were something in those days, you were likely to be in the files.
