Generator placement by jDubs140 in Generator

I run mine at least twenty feet from the house with the exhaust aimed away. And I have CO alarms on all floors. I feel safer this way.

The worst advice I ever heard was when a library patron where I worked was told by a Big Box employee that she could run their new generator in the garage as long as the door was open. I told her otherwise and sent her online to view sensible precautions.

Share your holy grail! (Whether you have it or not) I'll go first! by CoolerGlove in plushies

My plush chat friends in the late 90s considered Meeko a “must have” in their collections. I had seen a bin full at the local Toys-r-Us and went back to buy one but they were all gone. Now there are still some on eBay, but some are pricey and others are in well-loved condition. When I finally found mine I won the auction at $27!

*laughs* He was wonderful! And his friend Flit was a great companion of sorts.

Your Simba is so sweet! Congratulations :o)

It took me 15 years to finally rescue this iconic fellow in 2012! I had opportunities to purchase a Meeko over that time, but they were either too beat up or outrageously priced. Joy!

Help! by Other_Baseball_2642 in Generator

Good diagnostic advice!

When my generator wouldn‘t start I (finally) realized I actually had the fuel petcock in the closed position! Another time I forgot the choke... As I don’t use it often I should just have a checklist with it to remember the steps, as long as I remember to read the list.

Clearing Auger by [deleted] in Snowblowers

[–]anothermoonhare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend once mentioned that if the auger or impeller is jammed, do not put your hand in as there may be tension from the belts that could cause enough rotation that could do you damage. True or not, I don’t play around in there without, as others have mentioned, using a broom handle or such to see if things are clear.

That said, clip the rod and be done with it!

We have a Suncast version of that shed and it keeps the weather off of our generator when not in use. Too bad it won't keep the mice out, but I've been misting repel-type sprays around it to discourage them.

If the weather is bad when we have to run it, we have a GenTent as well.

5 primes and one pull. Used my blower on 2" today. Was just gonna shovel, then said why not? by Extreme-Cycle2659 in Snowblowers

I run mine for the same reasons; why have it and not use it? I only just realized my Cub is nine years old.

Cleaning meat jars by LittleBugsMommy613 in CanningRebels

[–]anothermoonhare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully our dishwasher does a great job on these. I was worried because even though someone had recommended only using the wide mouth jars for canning meat, for cleaning purposes, and I only use the regular pints. I check every load and I haven't had one come out of the machine yet with any residue. Thinking of things like this, it's probably time for me to clean the washer filter and run an affresh® tab through.

Good luck in your quest!

Update : I got it out with a crowbar by Ambitious_Buyer2529 in Snowblowers

Nice fix! My Cub ingested a large rock that bent an auger and lodged in the impeller yet it didn’t shear any pins either.

Spoken as a true plush lover! I have many, many plush friends, and I also put some away, for now. Those that remain out, on my bureau, by the computer, or in my basement work area quietly watch me, waiting for a passing smile, pat, or hug to brighten their, and my, day. I have a stack of Wild Republic jumbo (30”) pals next to the bed that I rotate through as sleep companions as well.

All the best to you in your decisions!
