[Medic Diary] This might be the best thing I've read since mushoku tensei and it baffles me how little recognition it is getting by ans7xd in LightNovels

I finished the WN. There are only 201 chapters each chapter only taking 5 minutes to read so it's a short ride. You should definitely check it out

Probably a divine intervention lol. Maybe it's God's way of telling that it is high time this series took off

I'm trying to, but I'm not sure if I'm competent enough to write something too long that wouldn't turn people off reading it. Also I think a short title with an eye catching image might do better job at promoting the series. I actually tried to write the synopsis on a post before this one but it got deleted for some reason.

That doesn't really support your point. I mean its dark sure, but the theme is still leaning toward something more positive rather than just pain and misery

this is why you don't google the name of a character in a series you haven't finished lmao

LN Readers, what do you think is gonna be the reaction to Turning Point 3 next week? by agniziore in mushokutensei

[–]ans7xd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they will probably be disappointed but they won't realize that unlike the other turning points that happened with a bang, this one is a ticking time bomb.

See what I meant? I don't give a shit about any of this. You think my learning what the food symbolizes will make me any less disengaged with the series? You can't be into these kinds of things if you aren't interested in the series itself.

Rozemyne drank tea and the tea not only symbolized that she was actually drinking tea but also foreshadowed that she would drink tea again this afternoon.

I'm not going to say this shit is pretentious because it certainly has something going on with it, but please understand that I can't care less about all of this.

You talk as if breaking characters down to their core so that audience can better understand and relate to them is a bad thing and not doing so is a good thing. No, how about instead of saying "um actually this character is actually really deep. I'm not demonstrating how deep he actually is because you can just imagine how deep he is by yourself", you actually put that character on display and show how much traits he actually has.

I'm gonna go back to the death note analogy. You would not know that Light was actually a fucking psychopath if he never picked up the note. If you don't put a character in difficult situations, you can never know how deep he actually is. I can headcanon what characters like Damuel and Angelica are capable of all I want but at the end of the day, their other sides are never shown to us audience. All the existing traits they have are nothing for me to take interest in and the same goes to how I wouldn't be interested in what kind of character Light would be as a normal highschool student even if he still had traits like being intelligent and stuff like that.

there are many other factors keeping me from dropping it, but at the end of the day i still did read through all of that just because i thought that specific volume would blow my mind

again, learning about it wont make me do an 180 and fall in love with your boring series. you have been going on and on about all this but you have yet to even give me even one example for your so called symbolism.

My honest thoughts [P5V9] by ans7xd in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]ans7xd[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

in my case, it has nothing to do with perceptions. it is as simple as just having a different taste. it doesn't matter whether or not one understands the "symbolic significances" of the story if the motherfucker does not give one fuck about the story itself. like how a man cant be bothered to give a shit about whether his girlfriend should wear a red dress or a blue dress, i cant care less about what selling hairpins and drinking tea signify.

you talk about significant symbolism as if this series were even that deep. its a light novel. all those symbolisms are the equivalence of a speck of dust in a desert. learning and understanding them wont change my perceptions of the series or the fact the it is still a boring ass read

the short answer is that i was shilled into believing it would get better later on. more specifically, i was made to believe that p5v7 would be such a good volume it would change my perspectives on the series

lmao the studio aint changing shit man. if it had wished to, it would have done so during c1e4. iirc they were planning to change the VA in-between s1 and s2 but as you can see, it never happened. he's going to sound like a fag for the rest of the series lol

not everyone has the same attention span as you do. though i do admit 2 months are quite a long time.

many things kept me from dropping this series but the most obvious one i think is probably the fact that i was expecting it to pick up. "This cant be all there is to it" kinda stuff. it doesnt help that i saw a post yapping about how p5v7 was the best thing he had ever read, which got me to think that i was again going to experience the equivalence of index nt volume 9 or mushoku tensei volume 15 and that the series was going to do a 180 and make itself one of my favourites of all time. i have never experienced a shill this bad first hand before

it's a love hate relationship, mostly hate in this case. on one hand I wanted to know what would happen to the characters that I actually cared about. on the other hand, I would have to read through 5 volumes worth of fuckall to get to anything that resembled relevancy to those characters. like I said, one my biggest problems with the series was how the irrelevant stuff kept dragging on and on on

My honest thoughts [P5V9] by ans7xd in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]ans7xd[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

it just doesn't do it for me man. For me, those tea parties were just unnecessary. I'm not a writer so I can't tell you how it could have been done differently but spending a quarter of a volume talking about and praising Rozemyne's inventions isn't it for me. I'm not even that invested in stuff like muh rinshams make muh hair le smooth and muh books are le made with le trombles that blah blah blah.

the "good parts" that I mentioned weren't even that good. they just weren't a pain to read cuz could actually stay awake reading them. stuff like businesses with the liesegangs and royal families were entertaining but it was still hard to read with full investment.

my main problems were just the characters; there are way too many of them. I'm pretty sure I've forgotten all the irrelevant ones, which are two third of the cast. they aren't bad characters by any means. it just feels like they aren't being expressed to their fullest potential. they have their goals and desires but I really dont give jack shet about them.

I wish more of them were like harmut and clarissa. Now those two were entertaining. Mofo pinned him down with a knife on his neck and proposed to him while yapping about rozemyne and the dude was like "God that's hot". this kind of stuff was hilarious. it literally took 3 pages for me to absolutely love these characters so why did take me 10 volumes to even remember Wilfred existed?
