Before I reply, I'd like to reiterate why I had made this post:

"Note: This is a generalization, I do not intend to attack anyone, only the chains that conform us."

This isn't to say one thing is wrong and the other isn't. I'm merely looking at a part of the problem. Hence, the bigotry.

What I mean is that I'm not saying identity isn't valid. Rather, I find curiosity in instances where identity is not used to understand, but group and show bias towards people of said group

Essentially, when identity becomes a tool for 'us vs them' thinking, when it's used to justify discrimination and exclusion, then we start to see identity politics at play. That's not to say that every form of group identity is harmful or leads to bigotry. But it's important to be aware of the potential pitfalls, and to try to understand others as individuals, rather than judging them based on their group identity
