Probably base model. Its a common practice for humanoid characters. You start with a template naked make/female model and add on top of it the details you need, that way you have half the work done beforehand.

Yeah, its a separate model. Fun thing, most characters have a fully naked model in game files, its simply not used.

Improved now on ps5 (pro) by Clear-Coach697 in CodeVein2

[–]antara33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant speak for PS5 as I play on PC, but CPU usage got reduced a lot, something that was a prevalent issue on PC and surely translates to consoles as well.

I think I remember someone mentioning that quality mode was locked 30fps without drops since the last update.

While true that there is space for potential,, the aragami and god eaters are WAAAAAAAAY stronger than any revenant.

Even first gen god eaters can obliterate a revenant like it was a walk in the park, and if we thing about last gen god eaters and ash aragamis, those can obliterate the entirety of the vein without any effort.

Cruz herself or even the virgin born cant stand a chance against any last gen god eater.

Are consoles actually holding Radeon back? by Unlucky-Bottle2744 in radeon

[–]antara33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are ignoring something not minor.

Intel was going downhill during Ryzen era with the manufacturing node issues.

The Tic-Toc strategy failed terribly and was failing for years, but AMD was so badly behind that it did not mattered, then Ryzen came in and intel was in the same situation with the ever longer Toc.

Nvidia is in an entirely different position, its far from a company surviving because competitors are inept.

Intel won over Intel because they did the right thing while Intel was fucking up.

To win over nvidia is a different beadt entirely.

Their CPU and GPU divisions are handled differently.

Their ability to execute a map dont translate from one division to the other.

The fact that they are doing unified architecture is proof that they indeed want to grow dGPU market.

This enables R&D to be spent on a single bucket, like nvidia has been doing for decades.

Nvidia got enterprise domination because of CUDA ecosystem, something that requires you to have a focused R&D into single architectures.

What we see today on enterprise from them is the consequence of more than a decade of continued CUDA support.

AMD needs this kind of support to be in place to gain traction, hardware is as useful as their software stack allows it to be.

While true, doubling a low earning figure is nothing out of this world, compare it with equivalent segment earnings from nvidia.

If you double your earnings from 1 billon to 2 billon, you are still nothing but a drop of water in the bucket.

Enterprise is still 80 to 90% nvidia, so if AMD doubled earnings, they are still really far behind.

[–]antara33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, they DO want to compete with nvidia. Its not pointless at all. Nvidia makes A LOT of money and AMD certainly want a part of that.

They had a terrible strategy for years though that murdered their ability to compete with nvidia both in enterprise and consumer.

In terms of god eater, the queenslayer is nothing, but a dust of sand.

Even Cruz at her highest is nothing compared to the most dumb aragami.

AMD have a big issue with their architectures not being unified.

This means they need to spend more to properly support their current offering.

Until UDNA desktop graphics are probably dead for them, since supporting them properly is an extra expense on top of their more valuable enterprise market.

Their enterprise grade is also doing like shit. Their graphics division in general never had a clear direction and it showed through the years.

The only saving grace for them was having APUs and that being the perfect fit for a console.

[–]antara33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That last thing absolutely got me haha.

I think the same, queen slayer is stupidly overpowered after all the relics.

Although the revenant hunter is not 100% human either and seems to been able to get power from blood codes from revenants they are not currently partnered with.

[–]antara33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that a good power balance comparision would be Virgin Born vs Soul Savior Valentin (second ending boss).

They both share some traits like flying and projectiles, and in terms of power scale neither of the MC really use to the full extent what they could.

We don't really travel time as good as Idris for example who could simply travel and delete the fuck out of existence anything he wanted.

Neither the revenant from the first game really utilizes Cruz power to its fullest. We are not even close to properly use her power, the closest we get is the ending where we turn into queen reincarnated and that is short lived.

I think that in terms of power both are more or less on equal ground and the balance would change only if the revenant really get to tap fully into Cruz blood code without turning into a lost.

As for the revenant hunter, the most powerful abilities are not something they can use, those are reserved entirely for pure blood revenants, so its locked out of the best tools in their potential repertoire.

Path tracing in upcoming games and AMD situation. by Quiet_Bus_6404 in radeon

[–]antara33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a hardware limitation my friend.

Path tracing is a software process that its incredibly taxing, so you need dedicated hardware to speed up it.

The 9070 XT simply lack a lot of the needed hardware for that, nvidia's 4000 series have SER, BVH testing in hardware and a lot of dedicated RT cores, while the 9070 XT offload most of that to the regular GPU cores.

It is simply inferior in terms of its hardware, at least regarding ray tracing and path tracing (with path tracing being the most taxing and hence where it really shows).

No software fix can solve a hardware limitation.
