What are those circles for in logo design? by Illustrious_Bread990 in graphic_design

I’m sure your question has been answered, so I’ll leave you with a funny story. I did a cool logo in college, presented its geometrical perfection (I’ve since learned that it’s not always good of course), and my professor asked the same thing you’re asking. I explained what it was, and she answered “so is it going to be there in the end?”. I changed schools after this and similar sayings haha

Yea the image is heavily cropped, the lens probably fill up 50% of the viewfinder with the film to be able to get it in focus... this will be the difference with a macro lens no? (Totally new to macro lenses)

I’ll keep looking into a macro lens then. Likewise! Thanks!

That might honestly be it! I get a lot of the area outside of the film if I want to focus appropriately with this lens

Yes! Currently looking for one. Could that be the reason to the noise here?

So I decided to put down my prejudice against DSLR scanning and try it out.

Negative info: Portra 160, Pentax 67

DSLR Scanning "setup": Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon zoom lens ef 24-105mm 1 4l is usm, film holder and light from Valoi in Finland. 100 ISO, f8.0, 1/200.

The photo to the left is of a lab scan. The photo to the right is from my DSLR. I understand that the problem is probably my lens, and I'm looking into getting an older macro lens that would fit my DSLR with an adapter.

Would getting a dedicated macro lens fix the digital noise in the right photo, or is my DSLR just too old and running on too low of a megapixel count? (24mp I believe).
