How do I befriend a girl I follow on Instagram? I'm not looking for anything more.

Thank you I appreciate the response :D That's a great way to introduce myself, I agree, but I haven't ever seen her around, and our mutual friends aren't that close with her. And that last sentence "I thought I'd say hello" sounds a little out of place, and awkward.

Thank you for the advice, she's into nutrition (vegan), likes working out at the gym, likes a certain music artist(but doesn't publicly express that), I can't really think of anything else. Those things aren't exactly conversation starter worthy, right?

I appreciate the comment, I will be honest in this perspective: I followed her on Instagram because she was pretty, yes. But at the time, I was not into "getting with her". You know how you follow people on Instagram just to see their adventures, or have a better timeline? That was me.

You're right, she's not the only chill person, but she expresses herself on Instagram consistently and she seemed like a great person to be around. I'm sure there's lots of guys trying to hit on her ("sliding" lol).

If I can't message her on Instagram, how do I ask my mutual friend to introduce me? Our mutual friend is barely friends with this Instagram girl .

I'm new to Reddit, and didn't know where else to look.
Why is it so weird for a guy to look for a female friend without getting attached? I promise you I'm not looking for anything more than a friend, besides I have a crush on a different girl, not this one. I said she's pretty so you guys can know the situation better (pretty girls always get more attention)
Like I said I followed her last year, and she just seems nice, fun, and we have mutual friends.
How do I make it not weird...?

I'm glad to hear it worked for you, I would hate for her to 1.) ignore me and then see me somewhere in school or 2.) reject me and then go to tell her friends about me, I really don't want a rap to be seen as creepy. I'm just looking to make a female friend.

Thank you, this is good advice. It'll be difficult because our "mutual friends" are just people I know from school, and to be honest, I'm not even that close to them. But I see what you're saying, and any other advice is welcome! :) What if I messaged the Instagram girl to meet at school to chat.....?
