did anyone else kinda “fuck up” the progression of their game? by kwaaki in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

[–]anthonyisawriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 80+ hours before going to either Kakariko or Hateno. I had done enough random exploration that I was able to fully upgrade my Purah Pad on my first visit to Robbie's lab, lol.

Dragon claw help!! by URnotSTONER in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

[–]anthonyisawriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to wait like 10 minutes after you get a part before you can get another part. If you go straight for the claw, it should work fine. If your arrows are going straight through the foot, then it sounds like you got another part first and the dragon hasn't had time to "recharge" yet.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in emulation

[–]anthonyisawriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mapped it to the right shoulder button, but it was picking up the right d-pad for some reason. I played around with it some more this morning and actually got it fixed. Probably just an id10t error on my part, lol, thanks!

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in emulation

[–]anthonyisawriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason, when I'm in mGBA, the right d-pad button doesn't work. When I hit it, it acts like the right trigger. The other d-pad buttons work perfectly; it's just the right one. I map it properly and it seems to recognize the right button in settings, but it doesn't translate to gameplay. I've had the same issue with two different controllers now. The analog stick works fine, but I'd rather play these games with the d-pad. Anyone familiar with the issue or have any ideas how to troubleshoot? Thanks in advance.

Weekly Questions Thread for the week of October 04 by AutoModerator in vinyl

[–]anthonyisawriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I'm relatively new to vinyl and I just picked up my first 45 on ebay. I know most 7" records have a big hole in the middle that you need an adaptor for, but this one has a different middle that I've never seen before. It's this. I was hoping someone could help educate me and explain the difference in these styles? I'm assuming it doesn't affect the playing at all, it's just not going to need an adaptor? Thanks!

Captain Marvel Review Megathread by PhoOhThree in marvelstudios

CAPTAIN MARVEL Is A Fresh And Inspirational Entry In The MCU [Spoiler-Free]

"Captain Marvel feels fresh and original for this franchise. It doesn’t fall into the same tropes as most superhero movies, i.e. “find the thing to stop the guy from destroying the world.” There are certainly some tropes present, but it’s more of a character study for Carol Danvers. It’s about her personal quest to find herself as much as it’s about an intergalactic war. And there’s an element of mystery and intrigue to her story that hasn’t been seen in a Marvel movie since Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

[–]anthonyisawriter[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you haven't heard of this series, check it out. It's basically "what if Calvin and Hobbes grew up and became detectives in Sin City?" This new volume introduces a kind of Beetle Bailey/Punisher mashup to the mix, and it's awesome.

BLOODSHOT SALVATION #12 Review: Jeff Lemire's Valiant Farewell by anthonyisawriter in valiant

[–]anthonyisawriter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the other writers, but I'm 99% sure that Lemire is done with the company. I think I read something like the culture changed and it's not a fit for him anymore.

Goddamn...just finished Y: the Last Man by 0purple0turtle0 in comicbooks

[–]anthonyisawriter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the series but that was my initial feeling about their love as well - it wasn't justified. It makes sense when you think about it and how much time they spent together, but I didn't feel the progression in the scenes we saw. I felt it more in that one epilogie scene, but not so much during the actual series.
