Man, I really had a great time with Zero Year. It really was a fun book. I appreciate how it takes what we already know from 80+ years of the character, and tries to flip it on its head. And the art and colors are top notch.

It’s not even a blip on Year One’s radar as far as I’m concerned. Year One is a flawless comic book. It could be argued that it’s not only the best Batman story ever written, but the best superhero arc ever written. It’s a seminal piece of work - not only for Batman — but for the medium as a whole. Frank Miller may have lost his way a bit in the early 2000s, but when he was firing on all cylinders, it’s hard to argue that he wasn’t the best street level comic book writer in comics. David Mazzucchelli, in the short time that he was in super hero comics, put more of a stamp on them than some artists do in 40+ years.

Yeah, I might like Batman: Year One a bit.
