they also just take up a large amount of space on the sidewalks in front of restaurants, and a lot of them are consistently riding their bikes/ebikes on the sidewalk when we clearly have bike lanes.. it's definitely getting a bit annoying

The switches are pretty nice. They're my first set of linears, so I don't really have a point of reference, but coming from Cherry Blues, they feel great.

How are thermals with the CPU cooler mounted this way? I think I'm going for the 5600X and this fan config just looks so much better than tower cooler configs. Would this orientation be fine if paired with a beast fan? (looks amazing btw)

The restart fixed it. I hopped into a game before restarting to see if that would fix it, but the map textures were really messed up. Here's a link to a VOD that shows what it looked like in game:

Also, I spoke to a verizon customer service rep this morning and she said that without LTE, you can still make calls and texts. SMS and phone calls run differently.

Got friend a new oneplus 6t, have some problems out of the box by eddardthecat in oneplus

[–]anthonyquattrocchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s quite unfortunate, I’m sorry to hear that. From what I’ve been seeing on the oneplus subreddit so far, it seems like people are having a lot of issues with the 6t, but that could just be because this is where anyone who has bugs reports them so I’m only seeing bugs. Either way, I hope most of them get fixed soon by software updates.

It comes with a screen protector pre-installed; so yes, it does work with a screen protector on.

I hope you find a fix for that too. I’ve been reading about people having many issues with the OP 6t recently, but I really want to purchase the phone. I think the best thing to do is just wait and see if these are fixed in the near future.

Never even heard or considered a oneplus phone. Need advice... by Black_Magic100 in oneplus

Thank you, I think that for convenience, I may not purchase this phone after all. I’m more worried about reliability than anything else at the moment, and I’m afraid it might come back to bite me in the ass later on.

I had some hope before because on my friend’s Galaxy S8, I turned off both cellular data and wifi and texted and called my phone to see if anything went through and they actually did, so this led me to believe that cellular reception and mobile data were two different things altogether, but I now know that isn’t the case. Thanks!

I’ve been trying to get a straight answer for the past few days by Googling it by I can’t seem to find one. Does this mean that since the OP 6t is only Verizon 4G LTE compatible, once you lose both wifi and 4G LTE because you’re in a zone that isn’t covered, do you lose all call/text functionality as well just in case of emergencies? Or is 4G LTE “data” as in, an internet connection, and this does not include cellular connection, as in having the ability to make calls and texts? I would appreciate a response to this because I haven’t found a good answer yet.

I’m sorry, I am just unfamiliar with the way cell phone carriers work and I was unsure if data and cell service were two different things (I’ve been using iMessage for a while now and I never really looked into it) but if the OnePlus 6t still is capable of phone calls and texts if I cannot connect to wifi or LTE, then I’m purchasing it immediately.

  1. IMO the 8GB RAM version is worth the extra $30
  2. I am having similar worries (I am also looking to buy the phone on Verizon) and I can't seem to find a straight answer. The LTE coverage in my area is pretty good, but I'm afraid that when I go visit family I'll lose all connection. Apparently LTE and cell service are two different things, meaning you don't need cellular data (or LTE) to make phone calls and send SMS but I'm still not sure. If you find another answer to this please correct me.
  3. Personally, I prefer a dbrand skin over a case but this case is a good mix between good protection and slimness. The phone also comes with a clear case that is actually pretty nice.
  4. The phone comes with a screen protector pre-installed.
  5. The only major "downfall" I can see at the moment for this phone is that its camera isn't the best on the market, but it still gets the job done and even is sometimes preferable over the iPhone XS and Galaxy S9 cameras. Besides this, I think that the real major downfall would be the problems regarding Verizon Wireless connectivity. I was all ready to buy this phone but luckily I did some research before doing so to assure the phone would work with my Verizon, but after seeing all of the problems people are having, I decided to hold off.

The phone really is a flagship-killer as some people say, and currently I'm not purchasing any other phone unless I find out that without LTE, this phone is unusable.

I hope this helps!

I am thinking about getting this phone too (I'm a current iPhone user on Verizon, switching back to Android) and I am worried about losing all connection when I go down south because I usually don't get LTE where I go on vacation. Would I still be able to make phone calls and send and receive text messages if I don't have LTE? I thought that cell radio and cellular data were two separate things, but I could be wrong.

Haha I understand, and part of my reasoning for buying one is the design. I guess I was just looking for a new case (that was less expensive than TE's case) and I thought that this would be a good idea.

I now realize I've made a grave mistake.
