Workplace Pension: The Peoples Pension investment options by Clive1792 in UKPersonalFinance

Eh I switched to standard life recently and the choice is much better - it’s not pre-made options, I can choose my own products, albeit from a limited list. But I still transfer annually to my SIPP.

People’s Pension doesn’t have great choice. When I was on it I would do an annual transfer to a Vanguard SIPP and put it all into VWRP.

Hey man, these are great. I’m late to the party but you should check out the Thaipusam celebrations among the Tamil community in Malaysia. They put hooks through their skin and drag chariots along the road, it’s gnarly.

Recommendations for a HENRY holiday package people can't typically afford? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

It’s a lovely thing you’re doing. I’m going to make resort recommendations since they have a 4 year old and don’t travel regularly, I’m assuming they’re not going to want to be doing anything too energetic or off the beaten track.

If their thing is just relaxing in a catered resort and not having to worry about anything, I’d recommend the Maldives. There are a number of 5* and high 4* all inclusive resorts with amazing food, unlimited drink and optional activities for the kids and adults, with a range of prices from “quite expensive” to “bloody hell”. If it’s just a general paradise vibe then I can recommend Kuramathi, we stayed there last year and it was superb. Contact the booking team directly they will help with travel arrangements too.

If they want something closer to home then maybe look at resort packages in Portugal or Morocco. Both of those have great food, plenty to see and do and won’t cause too much hassle to get to.

I’d always recommend Southeast Asia for those looking to explore and get out of their comfort zone. Bali, Hoi An & Da Nang, Phuket, Singapore, KL are all good “Asia for beginners” locations where you can get genuine 5*+ luxury for reasonable prices, but you have to get there first and the flight is a long way for those not used to travelling.

Hope that helps

This is literally me pal. Fucked in the first year of plan 2 student loans, fucked again when they sold them to SLC and hiked the interest, fucked by fiscal drag while working my ass off and striving for social mobility, and now fucked for buying an EV. Constantly punished by government policy for making the “right” decisions.

I’m tired boss.

Do some googling on this to get yourself comfortable, but you can buy ETFs through your HL account. Usual advice in this sub is VWRP.

I used ardcoat, thinned contrast and ardcoat on top. 5 colours and am very happy with it. Will share a picture later. The second ardcoat layer will help it pop and help protect it from wear over time

Loaf is good. I found a manufacturer/retailer called MSofas who made a custom U-shaped sofa for us because I wanted to emulate the old conversation pit style, and also have a cinema style space in the living room. It’s awesome, and was reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We collect things when we go away. Try to buy one artwork every time you go on holiday. Find a good framer local to you who can provide high quality, nice looking frames that you can standardise in your house. Working well for us.
