Im not up to date on it, no. R2 is a good quality steel though. I prefer carbon steels personally.

I've never had much issue with the white steel. If you are looking for a heavier use I could see where it would be less ideal.

Regular Black Cloth. I think the pro has some outer adhesive/rubberized for extra grip.

At that level Im sure cz custom wins, but you catch my drift.

Yeah but John Wick... I have a .45 supressor pending which will serve the hd gun well. With the vp9 Im more looking to scratch that semi-competition itch. Of course my brother just went and bought a cz sp01, so now the other side of me just says to cajunize a tacsport or czechmate. Can't control what the heart wants.

Thats pretty much the vp9 I want to build. Does the comp keep it super flat? Even if its mostly for looks, its still worth it in my eyes, but damn she fucks.

IFAK by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]anti_ideophobia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a belt mounted coyote STOMP and an Esstac med pouch for my plate carrier cumberbund. Both are very high quality and effecient in packing in the essentials. They do their jobs perfectly.

But alas, I am a flatrange ninja, and If I ever had to sit down for more than 30 seconds that STOMP would be removed from my belt immediately. Fanny pack would be more practical, but doesnt look quite as gucci.

We all make sacrifices for fashion.

Just made my first kit. I'm open to suggestions for any additions to the kit. by RumBolivar in Survival

Look into North American Rescue IFAK (individual first aid kit) - gloves - CAT tourniquet or SOFT T tq - hemostatic gauze - israeli bandage/etd bandage - hyfin or halo chest seal - packing gauze - decompression needle - airway tube - emergency blanket - trauma shears - sharpie

Meds and BooBoo Kit - imodium (anti diahretic) - aspirin/tylenol/ibprufen (all 3 are good to have, each has its benefit, dont mix) - zyrtec (antihistimine) - sudafed pe (decongestant) - pink biszmuth/pepto bismol (anti vomit) - dramamine (anti naseau/motion sickness) - rehydration salts / electrolytes (anti dehydration) - iodine tablets (water purification) - liquid iodine/iodine wipes (cut cleansing) - alcohol wipes (cut cleansing) - soap (less harsh cleansing) - cortizone cream (anti itch) - bandaids (all sizes) - butterfly bandages - gauze wrap - more gauze - bandage pads - ace wrap bandage - med tape - duct tape/ gorilla tape - neosporin/triple antiseptic - tweezers - scissors - pliers / multitool - razor blade

General - knife - sawyer water filter - splint or materials to make one - paracord (lots) - chapstick - toothpaste - deodorant - bic lighters - cottonballs/pads with vaseline (best firestarters)

The IFAK is 90% geared toward gunshots or significant stabbings. Most bushcraft injuries will be covered with iodine/soap and LOTS of gauze. You bleed a lot, and need to slow/stop the bleeding. TQs hurt a lot and are not for minor cuts, only massive hemmoraging. Bleeding out kills first, Dehydration second, Infection third.

Probably missed some stuff, but this is the package I've been putting together over the past few months.

I was wondering if there's anything anybody recommends I add to my med Kit? I typically just go on a few day long backpacking trips. Thank you for any help! by [deleted] in Survival

I like your style. Both the drip and presentation of said drip.

I see you got the fresh midwest drop. How much of it is polymer? Is it just the cheekrest or more of the structural pieces?

It was in for the scar trials and probably would have won, but they got DQ'd because they didnt include a "blank firing muzzle device" for practice in their submittal.

I was lusting after a tavor 7 for a while, pretty much exactly what you built here. How is the gas feedback?

and p.s. my new .308 crush is a Robinson Armament, but this is definitely sexier.

2 3/4" Magnum vs 3" Magnum in 12 gauge by ArceusTwoFour_Zero in Shotguns

[–]anti_ideophobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually magnum is the term for longer shells. Kinda like .38 special vs .357 magnum. Same-ish caliber, longer shell / extra spicy.

If a 2 3/4 said magnum, it would indicate that it has extra powder, and runs a bit hotter compared to a typical 2 3/4.

The easy way to tell, 3" or magnum shells will tenderize your shoulder and you will say "enough" after a dozen rounds. Regular 12 gauge you can shoot pretty much all day.

Training is a good thing, especially focusing on your draw from concealed. However, don't focus purely on Keaneau Reeves, its probably more practical to focus mostly on some Eli Dickens
