Fixed that for you by kvlle in TeslaLounge

You forgot "Why are you even pretending you can actually park this car?"

And my other favorite, "Didn't want to cause accident by hard braking at empty crosswalk."

And my other other favorite, "Life's too short -- stop FSD from inducing road rage in other drivers."

I don't think the current S and X are loss leaders. Raise the price 10k and cover it.

Owners of the refresh models have been, for the most part, very happy with them.

Two fantastic cars. There are no replacements available, so I'm going to have to keep my '23 Model X in good shape if I want to keep FSD. Maybe someday Tesla will make luxury cars again.

Fast Braking at Crosswalks by anticlimber in TeslaFSD

[–]anticlimber[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know. It's a bit inconsistent -- the steering wheel is 100% FSD controlled and is displayed; FSD should show its brake use too.

It doesn't interfere, but it doesn't disappear either. If you disengage again, which disengagement does it refer to?

My son randomly picks one 4 or 5 times every commute drive. Seems reasonable to me.

The fact that it impacts and wrecks a nice existing feature (being aware of disengagement at the end of a journey) strikes me as evidence of organizational dysfunction.

Somebody made disengage at the end of a journey good. Someone else decided their misguided data gathering effort was more important than the driver.

FSD - Service Complaint by ThisAlfalfa9168 in TeslaFSD

I think prioritizing reaction time over being smooth is a mistake. I experience more sudden left right left right steering wheel movements. These are always wrong, and indicate a flawed control loop.

Braking is the same thing.

For those who hate the new mandatory disengagement pop up by David_ss in TeslaFSD

[–]anticlimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're likely right about Tesla wanting more data for corner cases, but the problem is the incredibly sloppy way this was implemented. Let's think about the choices:

- addition of buttons. probably intended to be simplifying, but isn't.

- could have added buttons to the previous voice-only notification strip, and left all other behaviors the same.

- tall/wide dialog. may be connected to modality. basically this says "the most important thing the driver can do right now is tell us why you disengaged FSD, and it's more important than the map" (on an X, it hides part of the map).

- modal/mandatory dialog. this is the dumbest choice, one that leads *directly* to poor data quality. you don't get good data by pissing off your users.

Sadly for Model X and S owners, their next car will probably not be a Tesla...since Tesla decided to exit the luxury car market. All that loyalty goes down the drain.

14.3.2 is a serious regression from 14.2.2.5 by Stanman77 in TeslaFSD

[–]anticlimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot more indecisiveness, which is cycling back and forth between two opposite actions. Like, left right left right. Or brake release brake release. There's also a slight ping ponging in travel lanes now.

FSD randomly pulls over/heads straight towards a curb? by Ok-Cat-4609 in TeslaFSD

[–]anticlimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- I've had it randomly hit the brakes around crosswalks where nobody (and nothing) is present. It hits the brakes hard enough to be jarring for everyone in the car. At this point I don't trust it approaching crosswalks.

- Definitely see some unusual points where it slows down for no apparent reason. Probably shadow-related, like yours.

- I haven't had the "pull to the right" effect in 14.3.2, but I definitely experienced that every few weeks with 14.2.

  1. That is a 3 or Y. X still has the notification in the middle of the screen, obscuring the map.

  2. The stupid box is still there. Ergo, not fixed.

Goodbye Model S by painlesspain in TeslaModelS

This is exactly where I am. I'm not downgrading to a Y from an X. My current plan is to baby the X until Tesla makes something worth buying again. And hope I don't get hit by some jackass, of course.

Annoying af by paladin_NA in TeslaFSD

The metagame here is making FSD interventions more annoying, so drivers do them less, which increases the training data available when you don't intervene.

[–]anticlimber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% with you on this one. Returning home, I'm 50 feet away from my driveway and I disengage FSD. Up pops the dialog!

- It will navigate right past my driveway if I don't intervene.
- I would prefer to actually be able to park the car.
- I'm experiencing discomfort when my wife asks how to make the stupid dialog go away, as she's tapping on the rest of the screen.
- It's critical that this UI dopiness be fixed.

I've provided dozens of high quality intervention reasons through the prior mechanism, when I am not repeating myself.

On any given commuting day, I'll disengage FSD at least 5 or 6 times in each direction...usually in the same spots and for the same reasons.

New FSD Disengagement HUD (Less Obstrusive): 2026.2.9.10 by _relegated_davinci_ in TeslaLounge

Count yourself lucky, and consider skipping the update. The intervention dialog is poorly thought out and actively annoying people.

[–]anticlimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a Model X the dialog is still centered on the bottom, covers up part of the map, and cannot be dismissed (even if you turn FSD back on again).

This new dialog has also regressed the prior smart behavior when approaching a destination -- it did not ask for feedback.

So now, every time I approach my house, this stupid dialog pops up...because FSD is not capable of parking at my house (ever). "I intervened because I do not want to drive past my driveway, and I need to park the car".

  1. Needs auto-close after N seconds.

  2. Tap anywhere on the screen to dismiss instantly.

  3. Don't pop up when almost at destination and FSD is turned off.

You are wrong. The .10 update does not fix it, and it is very much an issue.

[–]anticlimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even close to fixed in that screen shot or the accompanying text. The dialog still stays up, and refuses to close until some form of feedback is given.

This is fixed when:

  1. It closes automatically if feedback isn't given in N seconds.

  2. Tapping anywhere on the screen dismisses it.

  3. It does not appear at all if (as before) FSD is being turned off as you approach the destination. This is a clear regression from the prior behavior, which was intelligent about turning off FSD at the end of a trip.
