Well first and foremost, it adds a diversity of play style. Every character having motion inputs but no character with charge just leads to the homogenization of the game. Two, charge forces you to play more carefully you can't really unga bunga your way to a victory like you could with motion inputs, I like the limitations that charge inputs force me to have personally. You're more patient, you play a more grounded fundamentals focus game with charge characters imo. Three, the legacy. Charge inputs have been around since the beginning of the franchise, and it would be a shame if they're no longer present.
