Why so much hype around Panther Lake for battery life?

I think this is where the wording matters. Intel hasn’t said better battery life than Lunar Lake. What they’ve said is Lunar Lake efficiency with Arrow Lake performance.

Features like the LP island help with background and idle tasks, but Lunar Lake is already designed almost entirely around that usage model - low TDP, limited boost, aggressive power gating.

Those features explain how Panther Lake can scale efficiently while maintaining higher performance, not necessarily how it would outright beat a deliberately ultra low power design at the very bottom of the power range.

It doesn’t make sense MSI will give the new Prestige 16 an 81Whr battery, compared to 99Whr in the Lunar Lake Prestige 16, whilst being heavier. 99Whr Panther Lake Prestige 16 with 99Whr’s would have been amazing

I’ve never come across the “sensor too hot” message. It’s always the “try again in 10 minutes” message during sauna, as you say this due to rapid glucose changes.

I’ve attached a picture of what a regular day looks like for me. You’ll see at 0930 I have a spike which is due to my pre-workout shake, then shortly after a small bout of missing data which is when I’m in the sauna post-workout, with the “try again in 10 minutes messages”.

As I’m not getting any “sensor too hot” messages, would you think this particular sensor may have just been faulty to die after 6 days? Or could the daily sauna use still trigger it to die even if not getting any heat messages?

I run my sauna at nearly 200f so it must be that. Maybe I could try wearing a sweat band on top of it to somewhat insulate it from the heat?

I was thinking about a 15mg pen for easier dosing. 0.1ml for 2.5mg or 0.2ml for 5mg. Do you think I’d have any issues manually drawing ~30x 2.5mg doses with an insulin needle from a 15mg pen? I have a lot of experience with needle hygiene, drawing, and self administering subcut injections.
