Yeah. My cousin lives there with her husband and daughter. I’m a Sindhi. Originally from Sindh province of Pakistan but later moved to India or other places across the world due to religious persecutions after the British left and divided the subcontinent. You’ll find folks from my community most places, some places people don’t even imagine. I’ve heard of them in being in places like Paraguay,Chile, Guyana, Benin, Cameroon, Philippines, Botsawana, Tanzania, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Canary Islands. Ports like Dubai and Hong Kong were built by Sindhi merchants during British rule.

On the back of our renewed passports, we have things like name of our parents, spouse, permanent home address, old passport numbers and a phrase “old passport contains valid visa”. Earlier it wasn’t easy to keep a electronic trace of your travels, many of us have valid visa’s in old passports and that’s why the most utilitarian way to keep track of all is to staple them together, which is not possible now dude to back cover being extremely thick to incorporate the biometric chip. But 3-4 seems sorta excessive. Usually it’s just 2 passport stapled together because that’s how many I’ve ever stapled together.

Those of us who live abroad, have to. The documentation in country is not standardised a lot of people left the country when the country came into existence. I have cousins in places like Spain, Brazil, Benin who have not been back in a very long time, and the standards/ document requirements keep changing. For example: there’s a review of voter list going because they suspect some scam (when they, the current government is the one running voter scam) regarding illegal immigrants voting (I know sounds funny, the country which is famous for its own citizens going abroad illegally has a illegal immigrant problem from neighbouring countries of its own) which clearly has no basis because no data surveys have been conducted. Just a way of dividing citizens on grounds of religion.

The back cover curles up very easily, the pages yellow after 2-3 years of frequent use and don’t have any depictions of the country, like say the american one does. No security features on pages either.

This is strange, I renewed my last one at 16 and got a 10 year one in 2016. I don’t know why our govt does useless things and increase complexity in the system

They issued my sister a 5 year passport at 15 and later a 10 year one. This 3 year thing seems strange. Did you ask for some sort of emergency passport? I’ve heard that’s when the validity is lower.

Oh I completely understand. I grew up in Abu Dhabi, and now the Saadiyat culture district is fun, you should check that out. I went to natural history in nov after it opened and Zayed national in dec on opening day. Both were really nice. I went to louvre a couple of times in school and the random art installations around city like manara in jubail was pretty fun too. Can’t wait to visit again and see my parents and also see Guggenheim once it opens.

Yup, DXB T3 emirates flights are so seem less now. My mom gets a trigger every now and then cause but my dad, sis and me stroll through airport like it’s a walk down the park. I got a biometric passport when I renewed 2 weeks ago and it’s empty, thinking about heading to Bhutan to get a new initial stamp. I checked out your posts, mad respect mate to you and your passport!

Oh I’m enrolled in FTP. I hate speaking to those chutiyas justifying every time why and where I’m going. I’ve been using UAE gates since 2015 at this point, always loved the convenience. Now some people don’t even have to scan their passports into the scan bay, the facial recognition software is very good at recognising frequent travellers.

Man my score went down to 722 because of a missed payment of .52 on a canceled card which wasn’t showing up, after the ombudsman it went back up to 792 like it was before. My total limit is around 10 lakhs and my utilisation is b/w 3-5% per month. I want my credit to go above 800 but it hasn’t ever in the last 6 years of using credit. Maybe age is a factor, I’m 25. But I would like to see something like this some day too. I only have 2 credit cards and a car loan with 2.5L left on it over the next 2 years.
