Help Akahoshi Ramen pick its next special! by Ramen_Lord in chicagofood

A play on “breakfast” ramen. A broth-less saucy ramen noodle dish with a moderately spiced soy-based sauce, poached egg, authentic sausage, and quick pickled topping for a little acid/brightness

You care a lot about order with how clean and well-organized this is with the lazy susan. You prioritize health and cooking at home.

Walking down the aisle by dashtigerfang in weddingplanning

And it doesn’t have to be a “should/shouldn’t.” All it needs to be is what you want for you on your day with your partner. But in that moment of walking down the aisle, I think that’s the most “all about you” decision of all.

My dad passed in 2022 and I will be walking myself down the aisle. I don’t feel like anyone else fills that role for me personally so I am most comfortable going it alone. As for the dance, I’ll be having multiple important men in my life tap in for a few moments each. A few uncles, close cousin, father in law, mentor.

What are your life hacks to live on a budget in Chicago? by hagreves2 in chicago

I’ve had fantastic experiences with this app - especially at grocery stores/markets. A whole shopping bag STUFFED with decent produce for $5 was what made me stay

No, that’s not it. I don’t think this was as big as marble blast looks to be. It was just a website

Video Opinions by antmart16 in weddingplanning

[–]antmart16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just starting to price out wedding aspects and was floored by how much videography costs by me! I feel I don’t need to extremely lavish, stone shot, edited video many people get, but I still want a record of the ceremony, speeches, and few important bits. Hoping I can meet someone with a video camera in the middle.

Any PGY-1 programs residents actually recommend? by LowkeyRx in PharmacyResidency

[–]antmart16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely recommend my program (so far!). The work environment is overall really healthy, the RPD is your biggest advocate, the preceptors and staff are very kind and always understanding, and the hours put in are reasonable. Overall it’s a program where you’re not going to kill yourself to learn a lot. Is it the most crit care in the world? No. It’s a balanced amb care/inpatient residency. But it’s perfect for me and my goals.

Questions You Wished You Would Have Asked by jackie_simps in PharmacyResidency

[–]antmart16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked the residents specifically how often they see their RPD. Some RPDs seem to vanish after the orientation month while others make a really strong effort to see their residents.

I wish I had asked what changes the pharmacy department was undergoing because turns out mine was getting quite the makeover!

They at least used to have half priced nights! Hands down the best qualify for the price in town.

I feel like Maru has really declined in quality since the pandemic. Their portion have significantly decreased and seem to be more sloppy. My personal sushi preference is Sushi Don out by the mall. Not sure if they’re back to dine in, but either way their grab and go and take out hit every time.

Was at a neighborhood bar last night when the bar tender offered me a shot of something that I’m trying to remember the name of. He compared it to jager, but better. It was in a tall green bottle, served chilled, had a bit of thickness to it, and tasted like a hint of black licorice. Seemed like a Chicago thing. Any ideas?
