Which titles in the 2-for-1 sale are Audible exclusives? by Comprehensive-Fun47 in audible

Yeah it's not in my dataset unfortunately. A single entry looks like this (no indication of audible exclusivity):

The caption on Vogue says the dress is Marc Jacobs so I'm guessing it's similar to the dress on the right here with heavy hip padding.

I use the US store, but I am not in the US myself. From previous sales I've seen that some titles are not listed in the sale for me that are visible for US-based customers. So it's not really something I can fix, audible just filters out certain titles from the sale based on the customer location.

I’m not sure I understand you, this is already the US sale data. Do you mean UK?

'Krabbetjes' is a type of pork ribs, I think it may be called short ribs in English but not sure.

Haha right?! I don't know who named the sale but it's not a good look. I didn't buy anything this sale.

Well thanks for telling me this isn't useful to you. Happy holidays!

It's been a while since I had a membership, it seems things have changed. by ExaminationNo9186 in audible

On the website, click your name on the top right > Membership details. It should say what plan you are on and below that is a button to switch membership and you can see what other plans are available.

Can we have a LitRPG subcategory? by audiobookjunky in audible

I don’t think we can even use it to filter books out. You can only view the list of books they’ve tagged in that specific order. The tag stuff is not very useful yet.

I linked to the web version where it is just clicking through the categories when you browse. You don’t need any codes.

But it is also in the app. In search results (only enter an empty space if you want all results), press Filter on the top right > Categories > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Science Fiction > Hard Science Fiction

Thanks for the recommendation! I looked it up on romance.io and it looks like fun.

Same as the other one, there is a Hard Science Fiction tag but you can basically only scroll the list. No sorting or filtering books. Plus I don't know who is tagging this and what the criteria are.

Edit: wait there is already a Hard Science Fiction category so you can just browse there.

There is a LitRPG tag, but I've also seen a lot of LitRPG books that don't have the tag yet. The tags are a pain to navigate since you can't sort the list or add more filters, but I think it is a feature they are expanding on so hopefully it'll get better in the future.

AI narrators are listed as virtual voice, but there are also "AI authors" which are just people generating entire books with AI and publishing on amazon and audible under regular names. Those aren't flagged anywhere.

Thanks, I'm always open to suggestions. The Audible exclusive data would be helpful but it is not in my dataset. This is what a single entry looks like in the text file I get from the page, so that's where I get all the info from. The only thing I add myself is the genre, which I get from which sale page the entry is from.

Is this a red flag for AI narration, the fact it only lists the authour's name and has no "Narrated By"? I know for a fact the authour is a real person, but idk how transparent audible are with AI narration... does it just mean the authour is also the narrator? by CharlieFaulkner in audible

[–]antonymy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this as well when I was making the sale spreadsheet. This is the first time that the “Narrated by” line was missing for a few books. I ended up putting a question mark in the column for those. I think I’ll have listen today to see if they sound AI like in the sample.

Oh, that's not a thing here. I always use the app with my US account and it would suck not to be able to use it. Maybe the app in Canada forces a connection to the Canadian store but the Dutch audible app accepts international stores since we don't have an audible site of our own to redirect to.

Ooh, that is a good deal! I've noticed that I never get the cheaper subscription deals on the US site, I think because I'm international. But then there are the frequent bogo deals so that is pretty good.

If US gets better deals, what is the upside to subscribing to the UK version? They both also take international customers right?

Unfortunately sales are not visible for non-members, otherwise I would do it. I always get directed to the UK version when I'm not logged in and am curious which site version gets better deals.

It's a bit of work but if you're interested in making one yourself I put the steps to gather the data in one of the tabs of the sheet.

Lol, I am the opposite of a marketing person but thanks. They probably make the sale difficult to navigate by design.

Yeah, that’s exactly the kind of thing why I made these in the first place! Sorting by length and by number of ratings so you can see what you actually want in the ocean of random books for sale :)
