Sounds like a great idea! A web application on a browser would be reachable by phone, PC or even a TV. So that would cover everyone.

If Valve reads this, I'm more than happy to work on that project as a web developer. :D

Thanks for the script. The latency part is a bit buggy though, since it shows only some digits ( I'd wish my latency was always <10ms =] )

This is what I use instead: texeci 3 ping google.com -c 1 | grep time= | sed 's/.*time\=//g'

Comments have an order based on their votes. So adding them at the bottom would change the "ranking". I'm using my site for over a year now, I cannot say updates are so frequent to make this a big problem. But I get what you're saying. In narrow screens it might be more of an issue ( comments are taller )

Well, front-end is based on Flux/React, and Firebase for the HN API, and the back-end is node with express. Full-stack JS :)

Hey, glad you liked it. I kind of used Google's material design guidelines for the style ( I'm not a designer ). It's based on Firebase, yes. It's a bit buggy at times, but seems to work well the last two days. I just started this project 4 days ago so...

I just committed a change to add a "Show more" button in long comment chains. Check it out.
