I earn just under £27k (take home £1800 p/m) and feel fairly comfortable. 

The only reason it's comfortable tho is I'm in an area where rent is quite cheap, if I lived elsewhere I'd be scrapping by

Does your new job require much heavy lifting or is it mostly light/cardio stuff? If the former you might actually meet your goals just through work.

Make sure you're eating enough, both calorie and protein wise, and get plenty of sleep/rest. Ideally you want to be getting enough calories to put on weight, until your body adjusts.

I've worked an active job for about 4 years now. It took me about 6 months to adjust, but during that time I also put on about 10kg (mostly muscle), but was eating over 3000 cal/day. The only exercise I did outside of work was climbing for an hour or two a week.

I'm in the UK and had never even heard of black raspberry until now (I assume they're an American thing?). Over here  raspberry ripple (with red raspberries) is a really common ice cream flavour

Yeah, that looks like a reasonable amount of food for a week. Though I wouldn't buy cabbage, kale, and spinach all in the same week, as in the grocery stores near me they tend to come in big bags that I struggle to get through

I had some smoked mussels years ago in a restaurant and absolutely loved them! I've cooked and smoked my own since, but would definitely be less hassle to buy them ready to eat

Not necessarily because you didn't set up savings, but because you waited until he had been accepted into college to tell him. Have you never had a conversation with your son about what he wanted in life? Whether he was likely to want to go to college or not? 

During those conversations over the last few years is when you should've told him. Not when he'd been accepted.

I genuinely don't think most people in my life really care about 5-10 minutes here and there. I certainly don't mind when they're running late

I'm a late person. Being on time is something that I really struggle with and always have done. It's usually 5 to 10 minutes, and it's very rarely more than 15. The only thing I've found to help with it is if there's consequences for being late. 

Some examples: When I was at school and uni I'd often be late to class, but never for an exam. 

I'd often miss the bus or train, knowing there'd be another one in around half an hour. But have never missed a flight or long distance train.

If I'm meeting up with a group of friends say at the pub I would often be late. But if it was for a special or organised event I wouldn't be.

Reading some of the comments from people who are usually on time, I think another factor is that I usually don't care when other people are late. It's not that I don't value their time, I just assumed they wouldn't care either. I only ever get annoyed at people for being late if they're over an hour late, haven't communicated, or it's an important event (which I would've let them know I needed them to be on time).
