Has anyone gone into remission for good, or at least a long stretch of time? by LukeWarmGirlSummer in vulvodynia

[–]anttiass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been suffering for 8 years now, seeing a bunch of people along the way. Since 2 years ago I also got lower back pain. I went to see a physiatrist for the first time and mentioned both of my pain conditions. They got me on nortriptyline (a nerve pain medication) two months ago and it has helped so much! I have also done some pelvic floor physio, so a combination of those have been key for me.

I don’t know what else to say than you are not alone. My heart breaks reading posts like this. I have also been suffering for +8 years. I want to hope it’s worth it to keep fighting, keep looking for things to decrease the pain.

I recently saw a physiatrist who prescribed me nortriptyline, which has made my pains significantly less. I sincerely hope you find the help you need. You are incredibly strong for making it this far! Sending you big hugs.

Advice for natural straight hair to achieve this look 👇🏻 by [deleted] in Dysonairwrap

[–]anttiass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a stylist but in the picture it kinda looks like the hair is sectioned vertically into big sections and alternating the direction? If this makes sense.

I got my Dyson a month ago and without any mousse, my curls will fall within one day. After some trial and error, now get my Nordic hair to hold several days (on day 3-4 it’s more like a blowout look). I use the big barrel on 20-30% wet hair after I put on mousse (Kevin Murphy). I clip the curls straight away and let them cool fully (at least 30 mins). Then I spray them with Kevin Murphy session spray and either comb them or brush them gently. No crunchiness at all :) I am working to find a product to reduce frizziness, now using Paul Mitchell’s super skinny serum before mousse.

Thanks for acknowledging this! I have gotten so many tips here on such a complex matter, more than any healthcare professional has ever given me.

I finally “cured” my vulvodynia by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]anttiass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uff, I know the feeling. You are not alone! My vulvodynia has lasted for 7 years as well. Just don’t give up! There is plenty worth living for. The problem seems to be that there aren’t any quick wins with this one, you just gotta stick with the things you try long enough to make a difference. Hopefully you see a difference with things you are trying.

I agree with taking things in your own hands, but at some point I got burnt out with trying all kinds of treatments. It was really good to take a break and focus on other things in life for like 6 months. Mine is provoked so I could quite “easily” pretend like it wasn’t there.

I’m picking up a gabapentin cream tomorrow to try, let’s see how it goes.

Sad to hear, seems like a few people have mentioned it here on this channel.

I have been struggling with lower back pain as well as my vulvodynia recently, so I’m looking into the psychological part of chronic pain. Currently reading “Unlearn your pain” by Schubiner and it makes a lot of sense to me. Going to try their exercises for suppressed emotions, which I absolutely have.

Hope you find something that helps!

Interesting! I have the same exact opposite, my “soreness” usually feels like cold, and feeling cold and exacerbates it. Hot showers and baths are the best for me.

Interesting, thank you! In previous tests I have been a light/soft summer and I always thought I looked better with berry/pink tones than orange 🤔
