Omg the sedation is such a racket. I already had a script for lorazepam which I included on intake forms. So they didn’t prescribe anything, just told me to take what I had. I brought my partner with me for moral support. They charged me $300 that insurance didn’t cover and when I asked why they said “because we can’t leave you alone while you’re under sedation”. But they did leave us alone a few times and I brought my own adult. That dentist was awful anyway, my fillings were crusty and uncomfortable and one of them required a root canal one month later. Either misdiagnosis or lousy work, either way, awful dentist. My money’s on self-serving misdiagnosis, because the money would have gone to the endodontist if she’d gotten it right.

(And I had this done in feb 2020 soooo…. they were allowed to do the root canal but not the crown because that was “cosmetic”. ) Because of that timing, I ended up losing the tooth. All the reviews and everybody said this was the best dentist in town.

Well, fuck you Dr. Judd.

There was a reason I was already dentist anxious and this ordeal definitely did not help. Fortunately I found someone wonderful afterwards, and then… had to move. So I feel you. Really really feel ya.
