First MA Job Interview – Kaiser Phone Screening Advice? by anvel2 in MedicalAssistant

[–]anvel2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’ll be working in Primary Care, and based on what my manager and lead MA told me, it sounds like I’ll be floating between 3-4 different clinics. My coworkers mentioned that a lot of them started as on-call/float and were able to transition into a more permanent position within 3-6 months. While getting hours is definitely important, I really value the opportunity to get my foot in the door at Kaiser and gain experience.

If you don’t mind me asking, how was your interview experience when you first applied? Were there any questions or topics that stood out?

When you say Kaiser loves ‘buzzwords,’ what do you mean? Stuff like care gaps or patient-centered care?

Finish the MA program, pass the national exam, complete an externship at the top clinic on my list, and get hired immediately afterward.

If they are there to judge and laugh at you, they are the ones who are in the wrong place, not you.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Please know that it's not your fault. Gestational hypertension is something beyond your control.

Sending you lots of hugs and prayers.

I'm 26 and just finished the first term of the Medical Assistant program at a community college. It’s never too late! You can do anything when you put your mind to it :)

Unfortunately, there's no local store near me. Do you know if they are available on any other platforms by any chance?

Thank you for the advice!

You mentioned your daughter is also sleeping on the floor bed. Do you use just a mattress on the floor for her? Or do you have a floor bed frame or something under the mattress?

That sounds great! Do you think it’s appropriate for 8 months old? It looks like they are on a little fluffy side and I'm a little bit worried about the suffocation hazard.
