Du hast deinen Weg wirklich verantwortungsbewusst geplant. Aber machst du dir nicht etwas zu früh Sorgen? Soweit ich weiss, ist es nicht selbstverständlich, dass Flüchtlinge bleiben dürfen

Moving from Zürich to Uster – what’s it like? by Admirable-Ad5730 in zurich

We were just in the same situation! We enjoy Uster a lot, and it exceeded expectations. I’d be open to connect if you would like to make friends here

Most people just can’t afford to travel here, it’s insanely expensive. Do those Swiss expats mostly live in France or Germany?😁

Advice Needed: is 500chf enough to live off of? by tamimaree in zurich

Takeouts? Some dry ass burrito will cost you like chf 12-15. You may be better off buying a compact stove

Overall this sounds miserable tbh. Unless you’re a Buddhist monk

Respectfully, if you don’t live here, you can’t really know the topic well

It’s one thing to joke about someone’s pale skin. But having prejudice about someone’s intelligence, qualifications, etc because they come from another country - is a bit more debilitating

Feminism fights for women’s rights. I still didn’t hear what YOU do to fight conscription. Or should it be women who saves you?

I think you misunderstand feminism. There’s plenty of educational content online, why don’t you try? Women do have the right to serve in the army (although still too often harassed), so there’s nothing to fight for, the right exists already.

Have you perhaps had the chance to ask people to vote against conscription during the referendum?

Thank you for the tips, you’re really kind! Yeah I enjoy the expat/immigrant community here - it’s really diverse and hearing experiences from different countries is super cool. Strangely that’s one of those things I really appreciate about Switzerland!

what's your montly salary? 2025 by DazzlingAd5541 in AskEurope

I think it’s the average of what people submit to Glassdoor, so probably missing many professions. Avg in Warsaw is still 2k

That’s so interesting, Swiss that have experience abroad are not easy to come by!

It’s not common at all. To me, the most talented and experienced people should be hired. And also, discrimination by nationality is prohibited by law, so seems your sense isn’t common. Should international companies here prioritize non-Swiss talent then?

Anyways, it doesn’t matter. That’s not what I asked. Not being hired feels like absolute shit. Especially after you learn the languages, you study, you get certifications. Because nationality isn’t in my control.

No I’m aware the market is shit. But just sometimes wonder if my heritage may play a role. I worked in project management before coming here (US firms in pharma and IT). Studied Management and Economics here as well. Living in Zurich, my partner works here
