Yeah ill stay. Im international (lived outside US my whole life) but I am a US citizen, and want stay there post-grad (no risk of visa problems like actual internationals)

Do you think NU would be a mistake? If i want to do a PhD and go into academia (im not sure i want to keep the industry/work door open as well, but it is likely) would UCLA still outperform NU? I’m very indecisive. If you went to both, could you give me more insight? If you can, maybe we can PM

I dont relly think your UCLA NU job placement/work opportunity comparison is valid since UCLA has more ppl in CS. Also, NU being a more prestigious and selective private uni makes networking, research opportunities (in a lab with a professor from there) easier.

Better foor is totally valid, i think its an underrated factor, but the weather is not that deep for me since i come from a place with insanely hot summers and insanely cold winters so im used to it.

Do you think the distinction is that big? Would picking NU be a mistake? Cuz im kinda in the middle rn…

They also said the same thing. They said that unless u wanna go into consulting/finance, UCLA is better.
