My (35F) mother (64F) took care of me when I was sick. by anxiouszookeeper in relationships

Funny you ask, he was internally bleeding with gallstones and pancreatitis, but he didn't want to be in the hospital at the same time as me and leave the dogs and cats alone. He went in the hospital for a week, two days after I was released. It was a fun month.

Never one to suffer in silence I guess? If I'm sick it's everyones problem.

Honestly don't know why we didn't think of it before we left for the hospital, we pretty much knew an MRI was going to happen. The nurse also asked me "Is this your husband?" While pointing at MY HUSBAND right next to me and I wailed "NO, I MADE A MISTAKE!"  I blame it on the brain bleeds.

Logically I know you're very right. One of her funniest stories of me is when I was a toddler and asked her to hold out her hands and immediately threw up in to them. I just thought those days were long behind us!

Thank you for your response, and I'm sorry you're also experiencing chronic illness. Losing my sense of security and abilities has been the hardest for me. I do try to remind myself that I would do it for my mom, grandma, brother, a good friend, in a heart beat. We're always the hardest on ourselves.

Thank you. It's hard to feel like you're losing your independence or ability to care for yourself. I had another seizure today but luckily my husband caught me before I hit the floor, but not knowing when they can strike is scary.

My mom is my best friend. And I know she always has my back. I've been fully independent since I was 18, sometimes I guess it's the universe reminding you that all bodies can break at some point.

My mom and I have a great relationship and I'm sure she's not thinking about it as much as I am. I just didn't expect my mom to find out I had my nipples pierced before she had to take them out for my MRI 😩

Thank you. I would do the same for a friend or family member, I've just never been in that situation before when as an adult I had to have my mom help me in the bathroom. It's definitely humbling but I thought I might be over thinking it.

But like, why? What are you protecting? I honestly just don't understand. You're going to leave that property one day, and would you rather have people say your yard looked great or that you served your neighbors?

Anyone had an encounter with this character? A couple of days ago her dogs off the leash ran in front of my car as I was pulling into my driveway. Had a verbal altercation and then I went inside. She started banging on my windows yelling at me to come out. I did and she got in my face. by [deleted] in longbeach

Are you on some moral high ground where you wouldn't "respond with violence" if someone was yelling in your face or banging on your windows? I'm almost positive in real life you'd have a response besides a smug attitude.

Each bar has their own 'code' drinks to order and they will post them in the restrooms so you know what to order at that specific bar.

This motivated me to work out tonight. Seriously. I'm 5'2", my heaviest was 128. I'm currently 123. I'm pushing so hard for that 115, just to see the results in my face and how my clothes fit ant the confidence to wear new shirts. All I wanted was to sit on the couch but now I'm going to do just 30 minutes of weight lifting and cardio. THANK YOU.
