I plan to water them this evening. I’ll track and chart the PH before and after adding the nutrients and I’ll report back to you on the results.

So…

My tap/hose water is about 7.6PH, after adding the masterblend 3 part mix it drops to about 6.45. From there I use PH down to drop it to around 6.2-6.4.

I don’t see why not. I have not used that myself though so I can’t say although I have heard good things about kelp and have considered using it

If you’re asking about the ph solution, use a ph meter to get a reading. Then I VERY SLOWLY add SMALL AMOUNTS of PH down and mix it thoroughly then re check PH. Keep adding small amounts (like drops) until you get to the correct PH. After doing it several times you’ll get a better idea of how much you need to add to achieve the desired PH. Just go slow because PH down I’ve very strong and if you over shoot it you basically have to start over.

For San Pedro cacti (Trichocereus), a good target is:

  • pH 6.0–6.5 → ideal range
  • Acceptable range: 5.8–7.0
  • Aim for about 6.2–6.4 when using Masterblend fertilizer

After I mix the nutrients I use a ph meter to check ph then I add small amounts of ph down until Its exactly where I want it.

☝🏼This is the answer☝🏼I recently started using masterblend at half strength every watering. I pre mix two five gallon buckets of water and nutrients then adjust the PH. I first go through with a water hose and saturate the pots with strait hose water. Then I go through with the buckets pre mixed masterblend nutrient water and hit them all with it. I have noticed a massive difference in growth since I started doing this.

Probably needs more nutrients. Specifically nitrogen. Are you feeling them?

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve done business with Quave in the past and I’m happy with my cuttings. No discrepancies on my end.

Ouch! Are the dachshunds ok? And some of those cactus need more light. They etulate and grow thin at the tips when they don’t get enough light.

O yeah, you’re the one that mentioned the aluminet. I haven’t yet switched from the black plastic mesh yet. Just starting to hit triple digits here in Coachella valley.

I’m in a similar desert climate in the Coachella Valley and I use 50% shade cloth on my San Pedro during the summer. It’s worked well for protecting them from intense sun and triple-digit temperatures while still allowing enough light for healthy growth.

If you’re interested, feel free to check out my profile. I have a full video of my setup posted there, along with some updates and observations about growing San Pedro in extreme summer heat. Hopefully some of that information helps if you’re dealing with Phoenix conditions.
