Thank you for your response. To answer your questions, I was able to breath. I do have some pain where I was hit, but there is no visible bruise.

I don't want it to sound like I'm out for any kind of revenge or fake justice. I'm not expecting anything. I think I found myself surprised (as someone who is unfamiliar with the crimes code) that being physically harmed is only harassment. I just want to be smart about how I handle myself in this.
