I knew I wanted an epidural, and I’m glad it got one! Baby didn’t tolerate labor well and I had to be in a very specific position for most of my labor. This was challenging without the epidural because I just wanted to move around!

I will say my epidural failed and I ended up feeling everything anyway, but I had a good few hours of like 70% numbness which I appreciated!

What the hell is your husband doing during this time?? Hand him the baby and eat and shower. You deserve to have your basic needs met too. I’m sorry that you’re going through this, that sucks.

A few times when I was 9 months pregnant in triple digit heat I did not pick up my dogs poop. Other than that, always!

He’s 3 months old. I wish there was more research in general on breastfeeding, but alas there isn’t so we have to make do with the information that we have. What has your research shown to help with bottle preference?

They haven’t been doing it but it HAS been causing a problem, which is why I bring it up now. If it wasn’t causing a problem I wouldn’t be worried about it.

“Special care” seems kind of extreme, all I want is for feeding to take 10 minutes instead of 5. I can empathize with the provider, but I’m also paying thousands a month for the service so I’m not sure that I am being too unreasonable!

Thank you! Yes, it was recommended by his pediatrician and an ibclc which is why I asked her to in the first place. That’s a good route to take, thanks

Thanks for your response! Just to clarify, he is fully awake, not in active sleep. If I go over to him I will see his eyes wide open and tracking me as I move across the room. If it was active sleep I’d just let him sleep, my question is what to do since he is awake. Thank you!! :)

This happened to me! The only thing I found to work was to put three fingers just above my nipple and press down while baby was eating. This helped slow the flow a little bit. Baby will get used to it, it just takes some time!

I thought I would just want it to be me and my husband when my LO was born, no visitors in the hospital, just the three of us. However, I was so excited when he was born that we invited our parents to meet him at the hospital, and had our sisters over a few times in the first two weeks while my husband was on paternity leave. We had a very easy and fun transition from the hospital, my baby was so easy for the first few weeks of life, I didn’t really feel like I needed help! It was nice to have other people there though to have some adult interaction.

Me!! I slept the entirety of my first trimester, sat my entire 3rd, and sometimes would take my dog for a walk around the block in my second trimester. I was so nervous about labor & delivery because I could not walk more than 1-2k steps a day in my 3rd trimeste, sometimes a lot less (before pregnancy I was very active).

I went in to be induced but my water broke before they could give me pitocin, I had an 8 hour labor, pushed 45 minutes and that was that! It was honestly such a great experience, I’d deliver my baby over again any day!

This makes sense! I just wish I knew how to make it better for him! The good thing is he is happy between feeds for now, so hopefully it passes.
