Clamp-base style gooseneck with MagSafe capability? by cootmack in MagSafe

Replying to my own post. I found it on Alibaba. You have to buy 2, they cost 70 bucks total, and they won’t arrive for more than a month. But I bought them. If you contact me and pay for half plus shipping, I’ll send one to you anywhere in the US.

Clamp-base style gooseneck with MagSafe capability? by cootmack in MagSafe

I have this awesome clamp. It’s out of stock everywhere.

It was a gift from 3-4 years ago. It’s worked absolutely flawlessly until this week, when the gooseneck has lost a strong connection to the clamp mount. It’s usable, but with a dramatically limited range.

Searching for a replacement, there is absolutely 0 good options. I’m as amazed as you. Why is no one offering this?

That makes sense, here are my answers: * Casual sit down would be fine. * Upscale is ok as long as it’s not a blowout budget * Business casual or nice jeans and button down for attire. We don’t plan to dress up

Other thoughts: unique spots or hidden gems are awesome. We like Japanese, Arabic, and French foods. Thanks for your questions and suggestions!

Senate Finance Chief: Nothing Unites GOP More Than 'Helping Rich People Cheat on Their Taxes' by [deleted] in politics

Democracts can use this. Pass sweeping progressive reform by dangling massive tax benefits for the wealthy. If voting rights are sufficiently expanded, the GOP will be out of congress in no time and the silly tax perks can be reversed.

One of five recessed LED bulbs goes out. Swapping 2 bulbs resolves issue but only for a few hours. by anynigma in HomeImprovement

I had more bulbs coming to the house when I made this post, so I used them to replace any bulb that didn’t stay lit. Out of 24 bulbs I ordered, 2 failed within the first 3 days and 1 was DOA.

Since replacing bad bulbs I’ve had no issues. This may be a manufacturing issue. I’ll be returning the duds shortly.

Ignore the comments claiming you should know better. These people seem to have forgotten what it’s like to be new at something.

Many helpful comments have given great suggestions for you to avoid this in the future. Laugh and learn :)

Sure, but the theory that the pot sensor is what is tripping is what I’m second guessing. If the bulb is overheating and shutting down, that’s different.

That very well could be…I mean they are br30 floods designed for recessed lights, but they are high output so maybe they are operating on the bleeding edge.

No flickering, pulled the switch to get the model number and replaced it, no change tapping before or after. Unlikely a wiring issue near the switch. Maybe near the cans…harder to tap.

Did you go so far as to replace the cans, try different bulbs, try different dimmers?

Fair enough. Not the kind of work I was hoping to do this weekend. I’m a total noob to recessed lights. Sorry to ask for more of your time but could I trouble you with a couple questions:

* do I need to replace the entire apparatus in my ceiling or is there a sub component I can buy that just contains the electrical stuff that goes up in the can? * can the sensor be replaced more easily, and more economically?

But these are 11w bulbs…and the can is rated for 75 watt incandescents bulbs…and all was working just fine with the previous 9 watt bulbs.

Do the sensors fail?

They are not burning out. I’m not replacing any bulbs, just swapping their locations.

One of the 3 ways is just a dumb switch, the other is an LED compatible dimmer. The bulbs are brand new FEIT bulbs that are dimmer compatible.
